    This is a welcome change.

I don't personally mind the new text (never saw it pre 1.6) but I abhor changes made for reasons of political correctness.

you abhor changes made for reasons of political correctness because...? it was stereotypical and offensive, end of story. there is no "political correctness" here, just ignorance and a lack of respect which was revised. i dont understand why youre upset that something that was offensive was corrected.

That's your opinion and I respect it. I don't think you're right, but I can respect your position.
And for the record I'm not "upset". I'm not sure why you're projecting an emotional state on my comment but you're incorrect in your belief that I'm somehow "upset" by this.

Probably because you used the word "abhor" and unless you have your own personal definition, that means you're horrified or hate the "change". Most would say feeling hatred or being horrified by something is to be upset. But what do I know, this is a stardew valley mod comment section.

One can hate something without being upset...

I would hope it is clear that I was not "upset" by the first half of the sentence saying I don't mind the new text. Though if we only focus on one word and neglect to assess the general meaning/tone of a comment then sure I can see why someone would get confused.

We live in a society where colorful use of adjectives is commonplace. It doesn't mean you're upset if you're using strong words... especially if the post is two relatively short sentences.

I understood what you meant, and I absolutely agree, this was a totally unnecessary change. I saw the vanilla text and I thought it was very charming and not offensive. Plus it's a video game and it's a giant frog, it's really not that deep.

      Stereotypical and offensive for...what? Frogs?

It literally just makes the character more charming and fun.
I see no reason for anyone, frog or otherwise, to be offended.

Stereotypical to frogs?  And offensive to who?  And even if some found it offensive, so what?  That is THEIR issue to deal with.  Just because someone is offended by something, doesn't mean that something is actually wrong in any way.

Generally the only people offended by this kind of thing are those without any business being offended because they're not the culture being "stereotyped". Very good mod, I wasn't aware there was a change (I didn't play during 1.5) but I'll grab the mod anyway.

Political correctness started in the '90s, specifically 1997.

      @plasmoasis

Holy Karen alert. lol I know it's a year later but I just came across this mod when trying to fix a bug and I was curious what this was. I can't even begin to fathom how someone can find a frog in a relaxing farm sim speaking that way "stereotypical and offensive". Do you even know the actual definition of the word "stereotypical"? He's a frog ffs. My god. Normal I gloss over such foolishness around Nexus, but this comment blew my mind. Good grief.

Holy crap thank you so much! The moment I reached the gourmand frog in my first 1.6 play through I noticed the change immediately and I was soooo sad about the change. Every play through I look forward to talking to my big bombo friend!

Thank you for doing this!  Just did Mr. Frog's thing in my current game and immediately noticed he was talking different.  When he didn't comment on Garlic making his breath "smell bombo bad" it confirmed that I wasn't just imagining things and that his dialogue really had been changed.

The instant I got to ginger island and spoke with Gourmand I immediately went to the nexus to see if someone had fixed my precious baby. Thank you for this, his dialogue always put a smile on my face.
