The description's too long for you to read in its entirety but you still want to know what the mod does? Fret no more! Here's a short and easy-to-digest list of features.
  • Introduces the titular Everlasting Flowers, a new kind of artisan good you can obtain using the Enchanted Crystal.
  • Custom mail and quests. You'll receive a mail that contains an invitation from the wizard in a season of your choosing. Follow his bidding and you'll soon unlock the crystal's crafting recipe.
  • Cross-mod compatibility: Currently features unique artisan goods for flowers from Cornucopia, Quaint Living and Serene Meadow.
  • More than 40 custom responses when you gift villagers Everlasting Flowers. Both romantic and platonic lines are available for marriage candidates.

Still here for more? Great! I'm trying to keep this description a little more organized than usual, so please click the following spoiler if you want more in-depth info about how everything works, how to unlock the crystal and much more.

You might be wondering how exactly you can turn regular flowers into the much cooler version in a dome. Well, the answer's simple: magic.
Once you've met the wizard and are in the "unlocking season" you can choose in the config (see the following section), you'll receive a mail from him that asks you to visit him in his tower.

Follow his invitation and you'll be treated to an event that explains the what and how and adds a new quest to your quest log. After seeing this event, all you'll have to do is re-enter his tower with a specific flower according to the season you chose. That'll trigger another event that finally rewards you with the crafting recipe for the Enchanted Crystal that you need for producing Everlasting Flowers yourself.

So, what's needed to craft the crystal? Nothing too groundbreaking (ha) if you've spent a bit of time in the mines. You'll need five solar and void essences each along with a specific gem. The gem, again, is tied to the configuration, so go read that section. Short version: You can choose from a selection of different gems!

Once you've crafted an (or multiple?) Enchanted Crystal(s), you can start producing Everlasting Flowers yourself. If you know how to use vanilla machines, you're already more than well prepared to handle the crystal. Treat them just like you'd treat kegs, though there are two exceptions: The crystal only accepts flowers as input... and it bops up and down. Processing the flower takes three days and multiplies the input flower's price by 2.5. Additionally, its quality will be preserved. All in all, this should lead to similar profit when you compare Everlasting Fairy Roses and ancient fruit wine over the course of one week.

Additionally, they make for pretty good gifts: "Generic" flowers are universally liked gifts while roses as symbols of love and friendship are loved gifts. The exception to the rule is Vincent: He dislikes them because let's be honest: What's a kid like him supposed to do with a flower inside of a dome? Additionally,  George dislikes Everlasting Dandelions while Jodi dislikes both dandelions and daffodils.

Every marriage candidate has one platonic and one romantic response when you gift them a rose while you're above eight hearts with them (again, see the config section for details) and a few villagers have unique reactions to some flowers they like or dislike, too. Can you find them all?

Everlasting Flowers is pretty configurable! Most things should be fairly self-explanatory, but please check the following spoiler for more details.

First things first: A config.json containing all your settings will be generated once you've started the game with the mod installed. While you can edit it with a simple text editor, I heavily recommend using Generic Mod Config Menu instead. Consequently, the following notes use the names displayed when you use it.

  • Unlocking Season determines when the mail that starts the little quest chain to unlock the crystal to process flowers should be sent. Fall is set as the default for lore reasons, but if you want to unlock them sooner, sure, why not?

  • Required Gem is a new config in the 1.6 version and lets you choose which gems should be used as part of the crafting recipe for the Enchanted Crystal. It defaults to a diamong, but if you want to start crafting them earlier, you can also choose rubies, emeralds, topaz or amethysts instead. Bonus: The resulting crystal will change its color depending on which gem you chose in the config!

  • Relationship with [insert NPC name here] unsurprisingly determines which relationship you want to have with the respective NPC and, consequently, changes their gift reaction when you gift them an Everlasting Rose item (including ones crafted from roses from supported mods). Most people don't want every romanceable NPC to confess their everlasting love to them, so all of them are set to platonic by default. Just change them to suit your own preferences!

Mod compatibility and cross-mod content:
  • Everlasting Flowers is made to be compatible with as many mods as possible. The events and quests have different variations that'll activate if you've got Less Ugly Town Interiors, SVE and/or Rasmodia installed.
  • Additionally and more importantly, the three probably biggest flower mods these days are explicitly supported and have unique artisan goods for their flowers: Cornucopia – More Flowers, Serene Meadow and Quaint Living.
  • You use a mod that adds flowers but isn't in that list? No need to worry! There's a generic "placeholder" Everlasting Flower (the one with the four-colored petals) that'll be produced if you process a flower from a mod that's not explicitly supported. Its price will depend on the processed flower and it's not needed for perfection, so you'll only miss out on the unique sprite and description.

Feedback
  • If you've got any comments or notes about balance or sprites, want to make suggestions or just tell me I did a good job, please just head over to the posts section and start typing that comment out. I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Additionally, if you like the mod, please consider endorsing it. It's easy for you to do, makes people (me) happy and makes it more likely that more people will see it, too.

Translations
  • This mod is currently available in English and Chinese (thanks to Akisawa404!) and fully internationalized, facilitating the translation process immensely. I'll release a German translation once I've got some more free time, but if you want to release any other translation, please feel free to do so!

Personal Edits
  • Feel free to go ahead and make some personal edits and/or sprites for flowers I haven't made anything for yet! The base file I used for the dome is downloadable in the optional downloads section as both an .ase file (with layers that make editing far easier) and a .png (without layers). A great free-to-use pixel art program is Libresprite. One thing, though - please ask both me and, most importantly, the flower mod's author before you upload them to Nexus.

So easy there's no need for a spoiler this time! Just make sure you've properly installed Content Patcher, then download and unzip Everlasting Flowers into your mod folder. Done!

To uninstall, simply delete the mod again. Note that uninstalling the mod before selling/trashing all items will result in some error items in their place, but you can simply get rid of them using the trash can in your inventory.

I can't thank everyone who accompanied me on my way enough. You've been a huge help and source of motivation. If I listed everyone who directly or indirectly helped, we'd still be sitting here next week, so I'll limit myself to...
  • The usual suspects. Quill, Pre, Airyn, Vin, Max, Soup, Nonu, soph, Flour... you're all amazing.
  • Basically half the people in the main Stardew Valley server's making mods channels as well as Sunberry's modmaking channel. Special shoutout to 6480 and PixelHag for helping me finally figure out why the animation wasn't working properly!
  • All the people who left nice comments on both the original version of this mod as well as my other mods. It's silly, but they really help a lot.
  • Akisawa404 for the updated Chinese translation.

Additionally, a huge thank you to the following people who allowed me to use their sprites for this mod (or whose sprites are free to use):
