I dont see the point why we the users need to put everything in ourselves, like couldnt you just given a map file containing all the stuff or does it work diffrently?
EDIT: found the problem!! i had another mod editing the farm maps lmao~
I'm so sorry but I am TOTALLY lost on how to add these into my game... I was sure I had done it correctly but I can't for the life of me get anything to appear on my farm? Is there anything different between editing a farm map vs the town maps? It all appears right there on the TBIN, but I don't see it when I've repacked and copied it into my game files.
When you created you mod did you make it a content patcher one? If so you need to have these in the assets folder along with the farm.tbin! your folder should look something like this: Mod (folder) assets (folder) { Farm.tbin png asset spring png asset summer png asset fall png asset winter png asset ect.....} content.json manifest.json
there are some hanbdy dandy pre made manifest and content.jsons if you are not sure how to structure your own. Anything not in the original game files need to be included in assets. Im still learning to but its fun once you get a nack for it!!
These are absolutely gorgeous but I am struggling a little bit!
I *think* I've done all the steps correctly?? I've managed to unpack things and merged the png tiles together, but when I try to open the map in tIDE I get this message: https://i.imgur.com/ZRBIz7p.png
They're so gorgeous and I'd really like to use them but I'm not sure what's stopping the map from opening :(
edit: could it be because I'm using a custom farm map? It's the white water farm map, CP version installed in the mods area (so I've had to go into the config file and choose certain options). I am going into that folder and unpacking that particular farm map from the mod folder. The .png tiles for that farm map, do those also need to be merged onto the main tile map?
edit 2: Okay! So I worked out it was because I needed to extract some other files (paths and spring_town), and now I am able to open up the farm map! We'll see how it goes from there!
final edit; a lot of trial and error later I cracked it! Thanks for these <3
Hi! I was just wondering why the elements had to be manually added to my tIDE Farm map if they are already on the seasonal tiles? I am a complete newbie to tIDE and I'm having a tiny bit of trouble pasting the Magical Tree. I'm hoping to be able to put it if not on my farm map then somewhere in town but I'm having a touch of an issue. I am embarrassed to admit I am rather stumped by the whole process!
Hi! So hopefully I can explain this right haha Essentially, the tilesheets are just the building blocks of the game. They're there sort of as a bank to draw from. The tbin files of the maps tell how those tile should be arranged. So tiles just sitting on the tilesheet themselves won't actually do anything, they're just existing as a resource. That's why you have to edit the tbin file to tell it which tiles you want on your map, where, and on what layers. For the magical tree, this is how I have it placed on my farm map: http://i67.tinypic.com/j7rdwl.png Let me know if that helped :D
