    Regarding Stardew Valley 1.6

This mod is not updated for 1.6 yet.
That is something I'd like to do, but you all can see that it's a really niche mod and I'm currently updating my most used ones.
This mod should required a lot of work to update, so I might take a look into it if I have a little free time and I'm tired of more complex stuff. But no promises.
I might update it in a week from now, or it might take 3 months. Just want to let you know that I do intend to update it at some point.

Just wanted to say that even though this is a more niche mod of yours, it's always been one of the first mods I install. It's cool that you do plan on updating it and if it takes 3 months or more, that's OK. Thank you for your hard work.

is there anyway to add config to raise 33% and 66% chances to much higher values like 70 and 85 %?
with how fast we can get sprinklers these water retaining fields had never any use for me even with this mod that made them much better.
only one that I ever used is the late game 100% chance one on pots.
even if there was no sprinklers I just skip farming and go fishing.the chances to retain water is too low and early game if you have to water crops basically your whole day is wasted.

The values are really hard coded.
To do so would mean a much more intrusive modification of the watering implementation.
This could increase the chance of incompatibility with other mods, and it being broken when the game updates.

This isn't working on retaining soil in the greenhouse for some reason. I'm getting the same patchwork results as vanilla. Only inside though

You are right, it was only working outside, I never made it compatible with the greenhouse.
Just fixed it and will be uploading a new version in a minute.

LOL, surprised that never came up. This mod makes retaining soil so useful I'm surprised more people havent used it in the greenhouse to save space

I guess most people just use sprinklers endgame.
Since it take a while for people to open the greenhouse, they are already using sprinklers at that time.

It looks like either 1.29 or 1.30 broke this mod :(

Digus, I don't know if you're still around, but this was a nice little mod and I hope that it can get updated some day.

Is the new version out of beta yet?
I was planning on updating all my mods when they release out of beta. But this one should be easy enough to update. I will look into it.

Just released a beta version of the mod.
You will need the beta version of the MailFrameworkMod also.

I tested it really quick, if you find any problems please let me know.

Unfortunately the mod crashes when starting the game and doesn't work properly for me, though it doesn't interfere with anything else. It says that the file "0Harmony, Version=1.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null" cannot be found. I have a dozen of other mods installed but i think only "Entoroax Framework" or "Faster Paths" could be interfering as thei're the only ones that might modify the ground. Your mod sounds really amazing and it's a shame it doesn't work for me :(

      Did you download the MailFrameworkMod?
It's a requirement for this mod and it the one that comes with 0Harmony.

Yes. Tried both the one for SDV 1.2 and for 1.3, both didn't solve the problem. I'll try it with the Zip-file later

You might be using other mod that uses a different version of harmony, that would give some conflict as well, since only on version of harmony is loaded by the SMAPI.
If you provide me the full log I might find more info there.

I get a crash to desktop error on day end when I use this in conjunction with a custom farm map I built using MTN mod. I believe the creator of MTN may have reached out to you. Any insights on if this can be made to work on custom maps?

I'm using this on the beta and it doesn't appear to be working. I got the letter about the changes, but I have a 5x6 field that I used the water retainer on, and I get spotty coverage just like without the mod.

Are you playing on a custom farm?
      No errors in the log?
Have no idea of what could be happening.
If you can upload your save I can take a look on what might be happening.

I think that the 1.3.20 SDV update broke this mod. I'm having the same issue, and the mod had been working fine before the .20 update.

Made all the tests, still could not reproduce the problem.
I download the version from nexus, played it with 1.3.20, with SMAPI beta.16 and beta.17
Can you upload you log? https://log.smapi.io
Even if there is no error I can check versions and possible mods conflict.
As a last resort I might ask for the save file also, because without an error in the log and a way to reproduce it's almost impossible to find out what is happening.

Be happy to. Here's the log link: https://log.smapi.io/AJ37CL6i

      Save file:https://ufile.io/588um

I've hacked my watering can to make testing easier. It looks like a normal can, but it has the powers of an iridium can.

EDIT: looks like you're missing an update key in your manifest. I don't think that would cause the problem, but maybe?

Thanks for the info, I'm going to check it out.
I changed the version on nexus to add the update key. You can download the file again and test it. But it would be really weird if that has anything to do with this problem.
Thanks of the files, I'm checking it now.

Updated to 1.3.21 and still no problem.
I ran your save file in my game without your mod and it worked.
So the best candidate for the problem is a mod conflict.
I will start downloading your mod to test it, but it might take a while.
If you want to help you can try it yourself, removing some mods and seeing if that fix the problem.

The mod conflict with this is the SpaceCore.
I'm going to try to find out why its happening.

You said it was working fine before, did you installed or updated it recently? it's not even an official version of it.

I added Spacecore last night, so that must be it. I used th unofficial update, because the official version doesn't work yet.

the 1.3.20 update broke lots of mods, so I had to going shopping for updates. While I was at it, I added Space Core, because I wanted to try the Luck Skill mod (which requires Spacecore). Looks like that was the culprit.

I appreciate the work you're doing here. I don't really consider conflicts to be the responsibility of modders, looking into this is above the call of duty for sure. In the meantime, I don't really have to have the Luck Skill mod.

      Uploaded a new version.
Basically SpaceCore was patching the same method this mod was patching.
His logic is to replace the original method without calling it. It was happening before my prefix method ran, so I could not check the value before the water was computed.
I just added a higher priority for my method, so both patches can work correctly.

Not sure if its possible but I had an idea before about retaining soil staying watered for 3-5 days and quality retaining soil staying watered for 7-9 days or so, could this be possible with or without his mod? Because it would make the stuff much more useful early on.

It's possible, but much more difficult to implement and balance than what was done on this mod, it took me just a couple of hours to code it.
For you idea you would have to keep track of all tiles individually, how much days they had been watered. What if the player waters it again? Track seasons changing... I don't think it is worth it. In the end, sprinklers are what you should used for endgame watering.
      But thanks for the feedback.
