I haven't started to update this mod to 1.6 yet. I do intend to do it, but don't know when I'll have the time to do so. The fact is that this is kind of a niche mod and there are cheat alternatives to it. The good news is that it shouldn't be too hard to update it. The biggest problem will be to learn what changed for quest and if the tricks done here still work. If you are also a developer, the mod is open source, so feel free to open a merge request if you think you can help.
Thanks for the patience and good game to everyone.
Thank you for the sticky on 1.6. Personally I always considered a 'deserved QoL' rather than a cheat. I very rarely use a cheat, I basically have to feel seriously cheated. I do hope that 1.6 didn't break too much (also since it evidently broke basically all mods).
I took a look at the change log of 1.6 and there is some changes to baits, I have to understand everything, how it impact the mod before I work on it. So it might take a while.
I'm glad you consider updating. There might be cheat mods as an alternative, but the whole point - for me anyway - ist the integration into the narrative of the game and that the player has to do something in order to get the upgrade.
Not sure if it was reported already, but I'm pretty sure Preserving on fishing rod duplicates bait ("preserves" them by adding them with a chance, I guess), and if it can be deconstructed (didn't test yet) - it is free prismatic shards
Yes, an enchantment to fishing rods. It gives a 50% chance for bait and tackle to not be consumed. I suppose seromaster's pointing out there's a bug/exploit due to the way it's coded for bait, and unbreakable bait.
Any chance of adding quality bobber, curiosity lure, and magic bait? I'm thinking the magic bait could come in the form of a Qi special order that's only available if you've bought the magic bait recipe, and the special order just unlocks the recipe for everlasting magic bait to be bought for something like 100 Qi gems.
Since those baits and tackles were added, I want to revisit this mod to add them. But being realistic, I don't thing I'll be able to do it any time soon.
I got the recipe in the mail but it is not showing up in the crafting tab. I should add that it was for the everlasting spinner but as stated I do not see any recipe listed in the tab.
It might be a conflict with another mod changing the crafting tab. Try remove other mods to see if the recipe show up. It might also be a bug when the recipe delivered and some how not added. You can use the console command: player_addallbaitstacklesrecipes , to see if the recipes will show up. (just don't save afterwards)
Hello, since there is already iridium quality fish in vanilla I'm a bit confused with the iridium quality fish feature in this mod. If I disable it will I never get any normal iridium quality fish? I like fishing and I wouldn't want quality/catch rate to change, I'm just interested in the unbreakable bait & tackle.
When it was added, vanilla didn't support iridium fish. The way it works now, it's just a bonus chance. If you disable iridium fish, you disable that bonus from the mod, not the vanilla way.
Any chance of a config option to lower heart requirements down to 8? I'm using Looking For Love, which changes some of these NPC's so that 10 hearts is a dating condition. I'd like to be able to get the recipes even if I choose not to date Linus or Clint, for example.
Could anyone help? I already got to 10 hearts with all of the three people that is related to this mod, Willy, Clint and Linus, but so far i only get the recipes for the normal everlasting bait and the magnet, i thought getting linus to 10 would unlock everlasting wild bait but i've been waiting for like a week now and still no mail from him, idk what's wrong? Is it bcs i haven't get the artisan achievement yet? But isn't that for the tackle quest chain tho? i only want the everlasting wild bait atm
EDIT: AHHHH NVM IM SORRY I FEEL SO DUMB, literally scroll down and found out i have to craft the regular everlasting bait first
Looks great! Thank you! I hope you consider adding an optional feature that allows tackles to be attached to any rod. Very frustrating anti-realism mechanic that makes fishing only fun lategame.
Is does work on old save files. You should receive the letter once you meet all the requirements for them. Description page contain the requirements for each letter.
Hey, I don't see any iridium wild bait recipe available on my inventory, however I already max a 10 hearts with linus or willy. Is it suppose to come from another npc?

If so
Then how do I progress? I didn't get any letters or quests
