Hey, for some reason SMAPI is saying there's a 1.0.1 version update for your mod? But the one you have available is the 1.0.0? Just thought you should know what SMAPI is saying, for mine at least...
I had a similar issue with another mod! Just open up the file, right click "manifest", and then edit it to say 1.0.1 instead! (I use the 'Edit in Notepad' option. Just make sure to save it before closing by selecting 'file' in the left hand corner and then 'save')
I just tested it to make sure its all good and its now showing up correctly in SMAPI and in game! :)
I love your pixel style soo much! Will you consider a version of Alternative Textures? Totally not necessary, I just love all of them and would love multiple on my farm. Otherwise, I'll wait patiently for the seasonal variant!
i just downloaded this mod, and i must say this is awesome! I love how adorable the deer are, and how realistic the brown/default deer is! I would know, since I see deer nearly daily in my backyard- hehe I love this mod, and I'd absolutely reccomend it to anyone who wants more of a kind of forest feel to their game :3 <3 <3 The only thing I'd say is it's a little weird is that it has faun spots on its back and full antlers at the same time, but i think its still very cute :D I'm definitely gonna keep using this until its not even compatible anymore LMAO
Omg thank you so much, this is such a sweet comment I'm glad you liked it <333
I didn't know only fauns have spots lmao In my country there aren't deer, it's something we only see in Disney movies, I don't know much about them. At least it looks cute asdujhausihd I'm glad they turned out mostly accurate to the real ones c:
ofc ofc :D I think the little spots make the deer even cuter honestly, so its a win win either way Plus not much of stardew valley is realistic, so it fits! Though I do encourage you to research white tailed deer- the ones i see and the type the brown deer resembles- Mainly because they are obviously adorable, and all animals are interesting to learn about! <3 <3
Sorry, I didn't mean it as a complaint. I was just saying that because the deer looks most like the White Tailed deer to me. And they do not keep their spots when they are adults. I know that because I see them in person almost daily.
No need to be like that, Cariame, it was a simple misunderstanding that was corrected prior to your comment, and wasn't a complaint, just a question :P I'm from the States originally (Aus now), where we have White-Tailed Deer only, and we are never taught about deer outside of our country, so unless you watched specific documentaries, you wouldn't know about them.
It's all a matter of perspective, where you live can influence your view on the world.
Personally, I like the spots just for the sake of breaking-up a monotonous color on the back of the deer, so I ignored it.
yes thank you Anzel! no one ever talks about any other type of deer here in the states where i live, but I looked up a couple deer and it kinda resembles this one picture of a Sika deer i saw! I had never heard of them before and they look pretty cool! the spots also look nice for the same reason you mentioned lol
I noticed something I wanted to bring up: When idle and looking up, the end of the ear causes some stray pixels several pixels to its right when it flicks.
I am uncertain the exact cause, but figured it'd be useful for you to know :)
how do I change the texture, via config setting? or does it change depending on season? because I like the 2nd option Also I recommend this mod for the horse shed replacement to a more druidic mood. You can ask the user if you want to copy the shed asset
Hi! You need to open the game once with the mod folder already in your Stardew/Mods folder to generate a config file. Then close the game and open the config file (with the Notepad app from windows). It will be written "Deer Skin": "Deer", which is the default skin. The other skins names are in the reference folder. The second skin option name is DeerPastel or DeerPastelVariation. You need to replace "Deer" to "DeerPastel" or "DeerPastelVariation".
I really would like to do a Seasonal Version! I'll add to my future features, but the next week or so I won't have time to do so. Probably will look at it mid May~

I'm not sure, as I'm not familiar with how Alternative textures works, but I'll take a look at it! c:
