Obviously it's been a hot minute since I've updated this mod; not since 1.3, I believe, and at the moment I don't have too many plans on updating, as I currently work full-time as a comic artist.
That being said, I appreciate the outreaching of support for this mod, and while I can't guarantee anything, I do still love SDV and would love to redo this portrait mod (for the third time, lmao) and also make it compatible with Seasonal Outfits/Diverse SDV- two personal favorites of mine.
Again, if I do find time to update this mod, it might be a bit, but I will do my best and try to keep y'all updated. I will say my stance has changed in terms of editing my mod to be compatible with 1.5; please feel free, but do not reupload without credit or anything of that sort. If y'all have any questions, I can be reached @Speremint on Twitter, Tumblr, and @Speremints on Instagram.
It will be awesome if this mod is compatible with Seasonal outfits! So far this is my favorite portraits mod, I've tried so many portraits mod but in the end, I'm using this mod for my gameplay. (use this with portraiture and it will fully compatible with SDV 1.5)
Hey everyone, since sheetcakeghost (serenityfrost) gave permission further down, I've gone ahead and edited the spritesheets for this mod so that you can use the character sprite edits again in 1.4. I don't know how to contact the mod author to have the edits added officially, but you can download my fix on the Chucklefish forums.
This is by far my favorite portrait mod and I honestly can't see the characters without Pencilstab and serenityfrost's work :) So this is just my way of saying thanks and making sure more people can play with it without it causing bugs.
I'm so excited to hear you'd like to try and update this a little, because it's absolutely my favorite portrait mod and nothing else feels or looks right!
Hello there, I hope everyone is doing well as we venture into fall.
I wanted to drop in and float the question/idea of expanding the portraits/sprite sheets to include SVE... This is by far and away my most favorite portrait mod on Nexus, and in my opinion, the most well-done.
I literally hate using other portrait mods or vanilla after using this one for so long haha. If I try to switch everyone looks weird. So I REALLY hope this updates! Iv kept using it even though I have to update it myself manually constantly. and I use it even though the new characters dont match. im sooo hopeful one day there will be a magical update with the new characters X
I absolutely love this portrait mod, adds so much more to the characters emotions and makes me actually want to talk to them. I look forward to the update as I can't imagine using any other portrait mod!
Can I just say, I saw your previews for the new version and I am EXCITED. I love your portraits but unfortunately I had to stop using them due to the new patches messing it up, the one I'm using now is cute but it's just not the same, so the possibility of an update is awesome!
I am patient and don't mind how long it takes or even if it doesn't end up happening at all, but I'll be very happy if/when it does! :D
I'm wondering if Pencilstab is still active in the community and if there are any plans to update the portraits for 1.5? It's still one of my fav portrait mods out there.
So obviously this hasn't been updated for 1.5, but does this actively break if used in 1.5? As in, can I download this mod and play the game as normal, then when I get to 1.5 content it just uses the base game assets? Or will having this mod installed and doing stuff at Ginger Island cause the game to break down in ugly ways?
Haven't been to Ginger Island yet, but some of the new events from the Notice Board that require new sprites (like the Gus' Omelette event at the saloon) are missing, making some of the villagers look like a pixelated mess.
I haven't downloaded this but I downloaded the old old old versions from Pencilstab on the forums back when the game was recently released and I am.so.attached. A true testament to Pencilstab's charm and talent with their portraits. I've been manually updating the files for my personal use for every patch xnb-style, THAT's how much I am attached to them.
Thank you infinity for giving the SDV villagers so much personality through their portraits!
