    What does it do exactly? What are the rates and the times for forging items? I assume it melts ore into metal bars. How fast is it etc?

      https://stardewcommunitywiki.com/Forge Pretty sure it's just the volcano forge... but you can build it.

      Forging is different from functionalities like the furnace. I prefer to avoid spoiling game content but I recommend getting through Ginger Island before installing this mod.

      To author; You don't need to recommend because you can code your Mod so that your mod doesn't function unless player reaches to Ginger Island. You can even make a Generic Mod Config Menu option for such requirement. There are tons of other mods doing this and you can examine their code or read Content Patcher more thoroughly.
      
      Also since v1.6 already offers https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Mini-Forge in game, your mod is merely a visual upgrade for it.

      Gotta be said though, it is one heck of a visual upgrade. Super cool decorative feature for the farm.
