suggestion: for the new 1.6 fishing festivals, can the generic npcs be the hermits who went crazy fishing at the start of season 10? i think it would be fun :D just a suggestion tho <3
i actually have a mod idea where i put more hermits into the game but it will be a separate mod! no definite release date yet since i haven't actually started on anything, but this is a pretty solid project im excited to work on
hey, so for some reason the sprites for the merchant + her pig and the wagon haven't changed, however, when i interact with the merchant it does show up as scar. i don't know if maybe it's one of my other mods that's making it bug out (maybe a weird interaction with sprites in detail?) but if anyone else has had this problem or if there's a way to sort it please let me know :)
hmm so far this mod does replace the earthy recolour and starblue recolour's traveling cart, but i feel like it could be one of your visual mods that's affecting it! try checking your mods by removing the visual ones one by one, see if one of them could be clashing with this or not. hope this helps!
i don't use sve, i just have a bunch of cosmetic mods, but i've been checking my game files etc and i think it's because i've got way back pelican town, which already adjusts the travelling cart! i'm working on fixing it and ill let ppl know how i get it to work in case anyone else uses this :)
i use that cosmetic mod too! although because of way back pelican town's file management, you can only remove partially for scar to come through. for example, you can remove these coding from your content.json file
and scar will appear on friday and sundays. buuuuut on festivals itll be the merchant lady instead. (since this code only affects the normal traveling cart)
the other way around this is to go into the asset file and replace all of the traveling merchant assets with mine by overwriting the png files. i could potentially help you on this if you insist on using way back pelican town along with the swaggon :)
hi! i use sve, scar's sprites, dialouge, and the whole travelling cart did use the swaggon mod, but the travelling merchant's portrait from sve shows up and not Scar, any way i can fix this?
Would you consider a setting that randomizes who shows up? Regular cart lady or Swaggon cart fellow? I like them both, and it would be fun for variety if both were in the game.
ive gave thought to this and hmm, as fun as the idea sounds, i think i wont implement this because the traveling cart already visits so seldom, and having it randomised means seeing scar would be less frequent. maybe i might change my mind in the future

I've now had the mod for a bit and I gotta say, I have never looked forward to checking the Traveling Merchant this much. Very much enjoying the mod. =D
One thing I have noticed: sometimes when I'm mining rocks, they are potatoes for a bit before going into my inventory. Would it be possible to change that so they're only potatoes during the fair? I don't want to disable the feature entirely, but potato rocks are a bit distracting (though fun).

yeah that's one of the problems i've encountered :') because of how the asset usage works from the base code, the slingshot game uses the normal rock sprite as a bullet. and if i want to turn that into a potato, i'd have to replace that.
the only workaround i found is to just turn it off until you know its going to be the festival the next day then only turn it on. i wish there was a way to just add a custom sprite buuuuut until someone wants to help with altering the base code (or maybe this is just an impossible dream LOL), its gotta be a potato until then unless its toggled off </3

I think that should work? It won't make all the bullets potatoes on non-fair days, but it should make the bullets potatoes on the Stardew fair but not on other days. If you want the bullets to be potatoes 24/7, though, it won't work.

If you use Stardew Valley Expanded it renames the travelling cart lady 'Suki' and has portraits for her. To use these portraits in stead, go into the SVE mod folder, then [CP] Stardew Valley Expanded\assets\CharacterFiles\Portraits\Suki, rename Scar's portraits to the corresponding Suki portrait name (it helps to do this in separate windows so you can rename them without having the issue of two files having the same name) then delete or move the Suki portraits and put the renamed Scar portraits in and it should work! This mod is great, I was genuinly a bit distressed that the portraits weren't working! :D
Thank you for this! I downloaded the mod and was super excited, and then I talked to Scar and saw Suki instead. LOL. This definitely helps me enjoy the Swaggon to the fullest. Thank you again!
