    now been updated with simplified chinese translation!

    Hi, I can't get the portrait and the dialoge box to work. I tried every UI Scale. The lowest I can go is 75%. Is there a mod it isn't compatible with?

    it may be because i have a mod that changes all the NPCs (including SDVE) portraits/sprites, but i cant get scar to appear instead of my other mod. i have tried manually removing the suki files from the other mods and that hasnt helped him appear, is there anything i can do? thank youuu

    jellie and scars dialogue does appear properly, only scars portrait/sprites are not displaying

     I'm a fan of your “The Swaggon” mod. It's added so much fun to the game!  I noticed you've prepared the i18n folder, but there's no Chinese localization yet. so... would it be okay if I made a Chinese translation for it?
    Just a heads-up, I used machine translation for this message, sorry if it's a bit rough.

      Just wanted to say that all I can manage is to make the sentences seem reasonable in Chinese as much as possible. I hadn't come across any info about Hermitcraft before (I only found out about it when checking the Wiki while trying to translate). So if there are any mistakes,it's on me. I've been trying to avoid errors by using the original English terms directly whenever I could.

      Also, I haven't added big expansions like SVE . But what I'm currently playing isn't a completely vanilla game experience either. In fact, I've added mods like Cornucopia. For now, it seems to be working fine on my computer, but I haven't done more tests. Really sorry about that.

      Hope you understand. (This is also machine translation. Hope it doesn't look too strange.)

    I noticed an issue where I downloaded both of the main files, but when I boot up the game and checked the SMAPI, it tells me that it has to skip the mod because, if I download both files (The SVE 1.2v and the original 1.3 v), that counts as it being duplicated and therefore cannot work. However, if I only have one of the files downloaded, the mod works just fine. That being said which of the two files should I download; The original 1.3s or the SVE 1.2v? And if I only use one or the other, is there any content missing from the other that are noticeable?

      hi! to clear up your confusion, SVE 1.2 is to be used together with the mod stardew valley expanded, i made that because i've had people report to me the normal version (original 1.3) is not entirely compatible.

      stardew valley expanded is a whole other mod by itself, and its considered a modded game experience, meanwhile my swaggon mod is just reskinning the traveling merchant and giving them extra lines but as scar instead.

      if you prefer playing vanilla stardew, and not stardew valley expanded mod, then get the original 1.3! if you're playing a stardew valley expanded save file, get SVE 1.2!

      the difference between the two files is that in the original, theres 10 dialogue each for the festival of ice and desert festival, but SVE has only one for each festival (this is due to coding limitations). BUT! to amend this, i added 20 normal dialogues, making the SVE swaggon have 50 dialogues as compared to the original swaggon having only 30 dialogues. i made them balanced for both versions, so you don't have to worry about missing anything. (but if you're ever curious, you could always download both files and look into the i18n file for all the dialogues)

    just realized i had never made a proper comment on this mod expressing how much i love it. i've been using this mod since i gained a laptop and modding capabilities in june, and its such a pleasure to see and use. by far one of my favorite mods, and probably the one closest to my heart. ty for making it
  9. If you use Stardew Valley Expanded it renames the travelling cart lady 'Suki' and has portraits for her. To use these portraits in stead, go into the SVE mod folder, then [CP] Stardew Valley Expanded\assets\CharacterFiles\Portraits\Suki, rename Scar's portraits to the corresponding Suki portrait name (it helps to do this in separate windows so you can rename them without having the issue of two files having the same name) then delete or move the Suki portraits and put the renamed Scar portraits in and it should work!
    This mod is great, I was genuinly a bit distressed that the portraits weren't working! :D
    1. Does it also change what the shop looks like or is that something else we gotta do?

      thank you so much, youre a LIFESAVER!!! im starting my first ever sve playthrough and i got so dissappointed when suki took the place of my favorite tycoon conman, and i managed to fix it using the ol rename the portraits trick! (it was however a bit funny in combination with the flavor text, suki i dont think you know what a boatem even is, much less commenting on 3rd life stuff during the desert festival). tysm for pointing this out, i probably never would have tried this if i didnt see your comment

      also, for anyone who is going to try this, you the igloo sprite in the ice festival cannot be modified, and the flavor text of the desert festival and the ice festival was overwritten. not sure how to fix it but meh

    I'm so excited to see this mod be in existence. Quick question tho, kind of assumption, I'm guessing this would conflict with Visit Mount Vapius edits to the Traveling Cart lady?

      honestly... i have no idea because i've not heard of that mod. but you could try, worst case scenario it just doesn't show up. im hoping it's not the issue though since swaggon is just a retexture mod

      I have both as well. The sprite will be the vanilla trading cart, but when you interact with the cart, the portrait and flavor text is from this mod. For my game I just edited the building spritesheets for VMV to use this mod’s sprites instead.

    Would you consider a setting that randomizes who shows up? Regular cart lady or Swaggon cart fellow? I like them both, and it would be fun for variety if both were in the game.

      ive gave thought to this and hmm, as fun as the idea sounds, i think i wont implement this because the traveling cart already visits so seldom, and having it randomised means seeing scar would be less frequent. maybe i might change my mind in the future

      You could make an option to where scar shows up on friday and the regular cart on sunday
