I love these portraits, I can't play stardew without them. I really hope that we can see an official update sometime in the future.
However since I like to fiddle with things myself I spent a bit of time trying to update the portraits for 1.5. I'm not as good a artist as the author, but I can touch stuff up. Now I don't want to step on anyone's toes, so I won't post it as my own mod, but I will share the file in my google drive for those who are interested.
It uses Content Patcher, and I made beach portraits for those who needed it. I had to disable Krobus as there is a whole slew of portraits added that I don't have the skill to make. Also none of new characters are added (again I don't have the skills for that).
If the original author want me to remove it I will. If the want to use my files they can.
Update 11-Feb-2021: Updated Robin and Shane's beach portraits (slimmed down bodies to look more natural, Fixed Shane's expressions and gave him shades)
I think I found some problems of the file you upload. The "CP" file can't be used and the Content Patcher tool will report error log when open with it. The rar format "xnb" file is broken. The "Robin_beach.xnb" is the issue I think. I try to use the "xnbcli" tool to deal with it and other "xnb" files, but I haven't test yet. Could you please fix it? I really really love this portraits. Thanks!
Well that's embarrassing...I uploaded a corrected version of the Content Patcher version. As far as the xnb version, somehow some of the files got corrupted in the last update, I uploaded one that should fix the corruption.
I downloaded this mod because the portraits look adorable. However, the mod will not work. I tried reading all the comments and apparently it is missing something called a "dll." I don't know what this is but i know it is not in the folder with the other portraits. If someone could please help me with this issue, that would be greatly appreciated.
FYI for those new to replacing content, you need Content Patcher, then when installing open the file and keep opening folders till you get to a folder called Content (I think its the third folder in the download) then click on your stardew install folder and click to replace all, if you do not get a message to replace then it isn't installed correctly.
I don't think it is outdated because it is only changing portrait image and does not affect any game mechanics, it is a "texture" replacer. This mod should still be working and should always be working in the future.
To install this mod you have to drop the files inside the Content/portraits folder in your Stardew Valley game folder and replace existing vanilla texture.
It's outdated because it didn't include newer character, and a few of the sprite is also re-positioned afaik... Well, it's working and wouldn't cause crash, but a few of character sprite will go missing

texture replacers never have to deal with this problem because the mod is compatible with all versions of the game
I'm gonna try one more time but if not, I'll find something else. I really do hope that this can be updated! The artwork is beautiful and so cute!
