Might use this as a single player farm. Maybe having more room and irregular shapes will make me decorate instead of just filling the whole farm with ancient fruit lol. Also I love the cherry tree in the middle! It's very cute
Hello hello!! I love this mod with all my heart, its the perfect farm for me (I play it as a singleplayer farm lmao)!! I have a slight question! Is there a graphical error where the frogs don't show up when you, for example, cut weeds? Like it's strange, no error happens but there is a little shadow animation that occurs sometimes of where the frog would be before it scampers off into the water. HOWEVER that might be a different mods fault, just asking if this is only a me error! It doesn't hurt anything and is purely visual Thanks so much for this mod!! <3
Glad to hear that you're enjoying the farm! I've been meaning to roll out a small patch sometime soon, so keep your eyes peeled! It's not something that I or my friends have noticed while playing the mod, though I'll try to keep an eye open to see. My only assumption, other than it being another mod, is that it could be some kind of issue with maps patched through CFL... that or a map property that I either missed or is yet to be documented on the wiki. Let me know if you find what's causing it to happen, or even grab footage/screenshot of it happening.
I haven't had the chance to seriously dive into modded SDV much outside of creating this mod, so I've taken the "hopes and dreams" approach to compatibility for now :P I do have another, more mechanically complicated, map that I'm working on, and hoping to do a more modded playthrough with a smaller group for, so I'll likely figure out how to deal with issues then. Sadly, the new map became a backburner project since a lot of what's left of it is more complex to set up and I have to focus on my college classes D:
Oooo!! I'll definitely keep my eyes peeled, but no rush at all!! I did end up finding out it was a completely different mods fault, so sorry to make you think it was your mod's issue! It turns out it was a mod called Spouse Room Redecoration that they have since fixed!
I wish you good luck with your college classes!! :>
It shows that you have made a huge effort with this map, including the minimap! I am honestly baffled that this map does not get more attention. I am going to play some more or less heavily modded run (mainly RSV, SVE, Cornucopia, QoL mods) on a Steam Deck soon, so later on in the game I will write my experiences here.
Here is my planned farm layout, for those who might be interested. I bet that it will look vastly different, maybe I will actually follow the map's guidance :)
Happy to hear that you like the map's looks! I haven't tested the map with any larger mods at all, so I hope that it works out! In truth, I still haven't played any expansion mods. I've been waiting to get perfection or some sort of milestone not too far off before I do so.
Let me know if you find any specific issues and I'll see what I can do about fixing them if possible!
This is our new favorite map. We've tried so many variations on maps for multiplayer. IF2 was too big and a nightmare to clean out, not to mention watering was nightmarish. Four corners was too small for what we wanted to do. Six corners was decent, but felt like the extra areas had no purpose.
This? Every area has purpose, with nearby water access, and big but not too big. And it's not cutting off half the areas at the start.
I'm glad you and your compatriots are enjoying the map. Part of my design for each area was to try and make each feel like their own mini farm, complete with everything they should need. I did want to include unlockable shortcuts like Four Corners does, and I'm happy that you don't find them to be too inconvenient or anything! I definitely was worried about making the map too big, and while I probably did, it still feels sufficiently natural.
Also, I'm sorry for the late response, not that I needed to make one anyways LOL
Loving the map so far! A little complicated squeezing sprinklers in, but that's okay! Endorsed! Focusing more on making a pretty farm anyways.
Found an extremely minor graphical oddity more visible during winter, not worth making a bug report over: https://i.imgur.com/GAQCmao.png Frankly, I've no idea what it is: All I know is, I've slapped a shed on top of it and don't need to worry about it anymore.
Probably for the best to slap a shed over it. For some reason, some of the tiles on the Winter version of the Island tilesheet are miscolored. Although most are correctly colored, that tile, as well as some transitions from sand to dirt, the tiles for the river on the West side of the Island, the cliffs on the North side of the island, as well as a few other miscellaneous sprites aren't properly colored. I'll probably try and edit out all instances of that tile in future revisions of the map.
Otherwise, I'm super glad that you're having fun with the farm! I wish you the best of luck making it look pretty!
wouldn't winter bridge affect the bridge on ginger island on winter time as well? Wouldn't it be better to include in the map mod as a tilesheet? I would like to state this is a very well done farm map and a cute challenge even for singleplayer or 8 people together. Great idea and great execution
Since I believe, Ginger Island's tilesets use Summer as their default instead of Spring, it doesn't change as the seasons do. The tileset happens to also be used on the Beach farm, which is part of why I put the bridge into the map. Granted, I haven't checked Ginger Island during the Winter to make sure lol
And thank you for the kind words! I'm so glad that people like the map! :D
Update: a few hours after the original reply, I went and checked to confirm the bridge doesn't change seasonally on the Island, and it in-fact does not. Yippee!
Hi!!! you made my dream come true ^^ I've been looking for a farm that connects all of the vanilla farm (minus wilderness prob?) but here you are providing me with such amazing farm design! So thank you very much ^^ I'll definitely be downloading this later when I'm starting my modded 1.6 Stardew Valley save.
Your design is very much amazing and beautiful!! But, personally I wish there is more space in the center near the tree so I can move my farm house there and also maybe more daily hardwood stump ^^ But, once again thanks for sharing this mod!! You're amazing! :D
I'm glad you like the farm! I hope you enjoy your playthrough on the farm, and I hope everything works properly. I haven't tested compatibility with any other mods yet, so hopefully everything works like magic for you!
Feel free to let me know how your experience using the farm map goes. I hadn't had the chance to test the experience of playing on the farm in singleplayer OR multiplayer, so I'd be excited to hear what you may have to say when you do begin your modded playthrough!
There are definitely some ideas that got left on the cutting room floor, including additional hardwood stumps. Seeing as I want to make the farm feel roughly balanced with the vanilla farms -despite being essentially "Better Four Corners", so I ended up keeping only one Stump. Something else I ended up dropping was including a starting coop similar to the Meadowland Farm, but with no starting animals (or Hay), but again chose to drop it. Something that I do still want to toy with is some special loot pool for fishing in the Northern pond. I had thought about adding Slime Eggs, but I'm not quite sure what might be fair. Something that I dropped, but may return to though, would be a Farm Minecart in a cave in the West, since the Western side of the map is generally the furthest from anything particularly important. But, that's something for me to think about later :P
