After adding this mod, every time I flip through the trash can, it triggers the plot, and Linus suddenly pops up to talk to me, still garbled and unable to exit, causing me to have to start over this day every time
What languages are you playing in? Try switching to English (at least long enough to get through this cut scene) - apparently there's an issue with some of the alternate language content.
I confirm it. I'm using Portuguese language and the problem is there too. And I don't think it's a problem with translation file, since I deleted it and problem was still there, but how code interacts with other languages settings in SV. I change to English and the problem is gone.
I love this mod so much, but i think i'm running into a bug with Demetrius's channel. instead of getting a "train tomorrow" or "train today" message, once i get to the day before the train is scheduled, Demetrius says that a train isn't expected until the following event. So "train next week -- train in 3 days -- no train until fall 2." i can get you a smapi log if you think it could help you figure out what's happening
Are you exiting and reloading in between? The base game has a quirk where reloading a save cancels any train that otherwise would have happened that day, and the mod should adjust its predictions accordingly.
huh.. well I definitely have done that at least some of the time, so I"m willing to chalk it up to that odd little quirk. Do you know if it happens regardless of how close the train is? because sometimes this has happened when i've played straight through 3+ days in a row and the train still shows up as expected even though the channel is wrong. I don't think I've ever gotten a "train today" message from Demetrius. I exit and reload a lot though, usually at the end of each day or two days, so its likely not the mods fault at all. thank you for letting me know and for working so hard for us!
As far as I can tell, it should be accurate otherwise, unless some other mod alters the schedule of trains and/or festivals. But I still have a nagging feeling that I'm overlooking something, so I continue to recommend also using the Train Info mod.
Sorry to say this is NOT fixed in your most recent version. It did not predict the train the day before or the day of the train. There was a train, I got the game notification and I saw the train. I found that 3.0.9 had a bug in the opposite direction, where it would incorrectly predict a train on the first day after loading the game (if there would've been a train that day otherwise). This is fixed in 3.0.10.
I checked 3.0.10's results against Stardew Predictor by MouseyPounds, and they agreed on the next few dates/times. I haven't tried playing for multiple days up to and including a train day, though, so it may or may not fix your issue.
When I entered the train station, the plot with Demetrius started, but the dialogue content was all " " or "}". The affection options turned into "{{format01}}" and similar 02 and 03. I couldn't skip the plot, nor could I exit, and the whole game was stuck here. smapi log
I don't know, I can't find where the base game code makes that decision. I did notice that checking a trash can has a chance to trigger an extra animation, and if spawning the trash can hat is a side effect of one of those, then the TV won't predict it.
Hey, thanks for looking into the duplication with Animal Husbandry! I downloaded the new file, fresh, and went to check it out. Unfortunately, I'm still seeing duplication. Goes away when I remove PATV. I was unsure if I should open a new bug report, or not, so I posted here to at least let you know.
It is midnight here, tomorrow, if I have time, I'll give it another couple of tests on my end. Maybe it's not PATV directly but some random third mod having a weird interaction? No idea.

Thanks for the heads up. If/when it actually does break, I think it will just be a matter of commenting out one line (which doesn't appear to be used anyway), and if not then I'll figure it out at that time. I'd rather not mess with it ahead of time and risk creating a subtle bug (I don't think that would actually happen, but just in case).
so I like your mod and having more channels, but I keep getting duplicate channels, like 2 channels for the recipe, or 2 channels for living with animals . Each channel has the same thing , but at least one channel is duplicated each day.
No longer depends on PlatoTK or anything else besides SMAPI itself.
Known / possible issues with prediction logic: * Mining Advisory seems to have some issues predicting quarry levels correctly, but otherwise tests out OK. * Prediction logic for Train Timetable, Governor's Message (meteorite / strange capsule), and Movie Sneak Preview (whether the crane game is available) attempts to match 1.6 base-game logic, but has not been tested for accuracy. Train Info is another good (and confirmed accurate) mod for predicting trains. * In the Cans tests out OK (it now uses the same base-game function as when you actually check a can).
Known / possible issues with display, audio, and cut scenes: * All channels display the intended text and graphics based on results of prediction logic. * Some sounds for Movie Sneak Preview and Governor's Message are disabled. (Previously System.Media, now System.Windows.Extensions, which caused an error when I tried to include it.) * Linus cut scene looks OK. Demetrius cut scene has not been tested.
I have not tested this on any non-Windows platforms, nor for compatibility issues with other mods (though SVE has no obvious issues).
Demetrius cut scene tests OK. (There appears to be an issue with the Chinese version, we're trying to figure it out.)
Train Timetable and Governor's Message should be fixed as of version 3.0.2. I haven't tested them exhaustively, but they did correctly predict the day/time of one train, as well as a Strange Capsule event.
I don't know why but since installing the new version it's stopped working for me. I tried to delete it and go back to the old file and it still doesn't work. I'm thinking maybe it's incompatible with another mod I've downloaded. Any chance this wouldn't be compatible with longevity?
