I cannot get the mod to work AT ALL. When I download the files there is nothing to unzip, it only gives me a RAR file. And when i follow the instructions absolutely nothing works. Please help.
Instructions for anyone who, like me, got confused, didn't know how portraiture worked and also doesn't speak Chinese:
1. Make sure you have SMAPI installed 2. Download the Portraiture mod, extract the zipped file and move into your mods folder 3. Download Fishking's portrait mod, extract the zipped file and move into your mods folder 4. From your mods folder move the "[CP] Fishking1.6" folder into the "Portraiture" folder 5. In the "Portraiture" folder there is a folder labelled "Portraits", now move the [CP] Fishking1.6 folder into the Portraits folder 6. Now this is where I got confused by 'Game conversation', run the game and speak to any NPC. While you are speaking to them, press 'P'. This will change the portraits of all the characters
Hope this helps someone and saves them 30 minutes of anguish :')
The Portraiture mod is the one who decides which shortcut button changes the portrait when in the middle of speaking to an NPC.
In the mod folder, go to Portraiture, then open the config.json file. You'll see "changeKey": "P", at the top. The change portrait key is defaulted to P. Change P to your preferred key.
This is easier with GMCM or Generic Mod Config Menu. With GMCM, open the game main menu and click the cog in the bottom left corner. Find Portraiture and you can change the shortcut key there.
Wow great work!! The thing I love the most about these portaits is that the middle-aged women (especially Caroline, Jodi and Robin) do look like they are in their 40s. I mean, they are mothers of marriageable grown-ups right? They don't have to be the so-called MILF or look as young as their children. I just want to see more real middle-aged mothers!
Hello foreign friends, they look as young as their children, probably because the author is Chinese, and in China, most women in their 40s or even 50s are not very old.
FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T CHANGE IT WITH THE "P" OF THE PORTRAITURE MOD:
Follow the steps that are in some comments below or in the other mods of this user, when you've already put the Fishking mod to the Portraits folder you have to change the name of all that appear "IslandSouth" by "beach" example: Haley_IslandSouth to Haley_beach. Delete the characters that don't have sprites for the beach, it isn't necessary to change their names, deleting them is enough.
Hope this helps! In my case, I did it this way and it worked!
I noticed that when trying to change the portraits manually that instead of being named "Andy_Beach" the files would be instead named "Andy_SouthIsland". Figured I would put this out there if anybody else thought there wasn't beach portraits, you just gotta rename them.

EDIT: LOL, it took me a minute, but the trick is to turn your Caps Lock on. But thank you to whoever responded answering my initial question.
