Make sure you download the Portraiture under the 'Optional Files'
Make sure your file path is like this: "steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods\Portraiture\Portraits\Candicorn_Alex\Alex.png"
If you downloaded with vortex go into all the folders with the pictures and delete the vortex file leaving ONLY the png files.
Make sure you're pressing 'P' when in dialog with the character and keep pressing it until the portrait shows up, press 'O' to fix it to that one
IF NONE OF THESE WORK, check the Portraiture mod page, I have NO control over it!

Just wanted to post a comment and say I LOVE these and I think your art style is beautiful. <3 I’m looking forward to future winter/beach versions for these, and also SVE portraits if you plan on doing those in the near future. ^_^ I would absolutely adore having a full matching set.
