I _just_ started a new game today, just so I could try this. "Just" as in I haven't finished Spring 1 yet. But I am really looking forward to it. With all the mods I use, I've been completing or all but completing the entire community center by the end of the first spring. I like my mods, I don't want to ditch any of them, but with this it will be _impossible_ for me to do that, and the need for a fairly high number of each item means that collecting them will have to take place over time, which takes a lot of the urgency off, and I'm predicting that it will make completing each bundle so much more satisfying.
Thank you for doing this. I'll come back and lavish more knowledgeable praise on you after I've played a while. :D
Thanks for the great mod first of all. I was wondering if you knew anything about a possible issue where after updating this mod a few items in various bundles have either the problem of being incorrectly donated or the problem of a red Ø denoting a possible missing item from game. I made sure to update all the dependencies. The first problem looks like it might be that the items are in a different order than previously.
Thanks
EDIT: Nevermind! It turns out updating to the most recent version was the issue. Looks like a few bundles were altered (new items added, same items but in different spots, etc.) I downgraded to one version prior to current and that fixed it.
Yeah the current version used some of the newer items from SVE and Cornucopia. You don't by chance remember which items had the cross out symbol? It's a sign of an incorrect item name string and it's simple to fix once I know were to look. I thought I had caught them all, but random bundles can be a pain to troubleshoot :P
hey, question! SMAPI keeps giving me an update prompt for the challenging community center mod, but i only have yours installed? do i need to download the cccm mod and replace its folder in your mod or something?
What it's detecting is the core part of the the challenging community center mod. You can update just that part but you'd have to go into it's folder and edit the config.json file and re-add Moons_Modest_SVE_Corn for the bundle variant.
With SVE adding new items and some of my own desires to tweak it again I'm going to try and put out a new update on mine as well in a week or two.
but i've had difficulty making sve work in the past...
could you make an optional variant without the sve requirement? its fine if not! i just love the idea of giving myself a bit more challenge in my runs and most bundles seem either too easy or far too difficult.
Part of my reason for making this one was that so many of the other community center mods had a lot of repeat items in the lists, and I wanted to build a list that had unique items for everything. Only way I was able to do it as well as I did was by adding in both the basic cornucopia stuff and SVE. To get rid of SVE I'd have to delve into the full cornucopia list to keep that uniqueness, and I know that's a lot of added content that overwhelms some folk.
Heya! I'm really interested in downloading this mod, but would like to make sure of something first just to save myself frustration. I use the animal husbandry mod and this adds meat options to the animal bundle. Would I need to disable that portion of the mod for this one to work, or would they work together just fine?
I honestly couldn't tell you, never used animal husbandry myself. I figure if both mods try and change the bundle it'll either go with whichever is loaded last, or smapi will kick out an error code, maybe using neither mod.
I did end up playing around with it a little, and wanted to share this with you!
So animal husbandry IS compatible - so long as the meat additions to the community center animal bundle are disabled. Once they are, your mod works just fine! No issues or bugs whatsoever.
Hopefully this can be helpful for you in the future. I had to do a couple of new save files to figure it out 'n hopefully this'll save you and others a bit of time (:
I finally finished the CC in year three! That was a great challenge! I loved all the bundles! Some where quite hard. Obviously. xD Mostly hard for me because I always forget to get season specific stuff. But anyways. I did it!
Great mod, thanks a lot for it! I will definetly use it again!
For the most part, I'm really loving this mod! Both the extra challenge and the inclusion of the modded items feels really well-balanced. However, the rewards do not feel balanced at all. Frankly, it really sucks to work really hard to get what you need for a bundle (and it is a lot harder than I'm used to!) and get a shirt. I'm a fashion sense user and so not only do the shirts do absolutely nothing for me, but they feel really disproportionate to the amount of effort for what I put in. For example, the most expensive vault bundle in vanilla costs half as much as the modded one, and in vanilla you get a crystalarium.
I really wanted it to matter in my game that I added all these modded items, but the bundle rewards need rebalancing badly. It sucks the fun out of a mod that had otherwise been breathing new life into my playthrough. I would deeply appreciate an update to the bundle rewards, if you have the time.
I can look into it. To be honest, I didn’t really change the rewards from the original challenging center mod, but I’ll see about swapping it with some other thematic reward.
Really enjoying the added challenge of this mod but it looks like there may be an issue with the Fish Farmer Bundle - there are seven slots to fill but only six item types to pick from (Roe, Aged Roe, Algae, Seaweed, Squid Ink, Dulse Seaweed).
Great and challenging mod this one, somehow it seems to be not working all the time, i have all the correct things but it won't let me put them into the boxes, maybe it's conflicting with other mods? this is the only community center mod i use.

The objects with 🚫 for me are: gellingpowder + misopaste
Can you tell me how to fix it!?
Thanks

Should be up to date with the correct number of items now.
