I'm using a mod which adds some tabs to chests and the additional width of the fridge makes the inner part of the tabs overlap with the fridge contents. is it possible to retain the original size and add a scrollbar for compatibility with Convenient Chests?
I am using a vanilla UI, if the tabs overlap, then it means they overlap whenever this vanilla UI is used, and thus it is a bug the mod author needs to fix.
With 1.6 comes a new larger chest, which uses this UI, I am simply making it so Fridges also use this UI and have the same 70 slots as a big chest has.
If you do not use the cost config option, try using the first version, convenient chests is hard-coded to check for SpecialChestType, rather then the actual Size of the chest.
I may be able to override this behaviour in a non-destructive way, but I can not make any promises right now.
I notice that after uninstalling this mod my fridges still show up 'big" is a special circumstance. When cycling left/right via the Mod 'Chests Anywhere" the fridge still shows big. Put something in it and it changes back to small. Maybe do anything with the inventory in the fridge. Open the fridge directly and it was small. Cycle left.right via ChestsAnywhere and it goes big. Big display/UI at least.
I edited the Stardew save XML and changed the SpecialChestType property for the fridges from BigChest to None and the effects of this mod are fully removed. So it seems you are partially using existing game features, but after a Mod uninstall there are dropping(s) left behind. These droppings may cause issues after uninstall.
This is a inevitable side-effect of using a mod which resizes a inventory, not something that can be fixed.
And I am not partially using existing game features, I am fully using them, fridges are simply chests with a boolean which flags them as a fridge. All this mod does is mark them as big chests, as that is part of what is needed to make the UI behave and show all 70 slots.
Without that, you'd be able to put 70 items in, but only 36 of them would be visible in the UI.
The newest version should now no longer cause remnants, it will though, mean that when uninstalling, you can end up with overflowing fridges that have a bunch of hidden inventory, nothing I can do about that.
Okay, I think the house renovation cost is a good idea. This leads me to...
Is this config actually a house upgrade or any given renovation. Renovations require all upgrades to have been completed.
I'm thinking maybe the trigger being the house upgrade. Specifically the second. The first house upgrade gives you a kitchen which has a fridge. The second house upgrade could come with a bigger fridge. Bigger house, bigger kitchen...bigger fridge. The house upgrade level is an easy variable to examine.
I haven't tried the mode yet, but as far as I understand, our refrigerator suddenly grows for free. For an affordable price it can be added to the robin instead.

And please have patience, I cannot always respond quickly, I try to check at least once a day but sometimes I cannot do so!
thanks for making the mod! it's a huge help

if it's an issue with that mod I'll gladly drop that modder a comment. thanks for looking!
