Hey poshpossum, love the sprite! I mean what's better than a black cat? A magical black cat.
I made a Content Patcher version, so if you want you can upload it too for all the people who don't want to use xnb mods: http://www.mediafire.com/file/9o5ys288kpxpsl6/ Extract into the "Mods" folder, it requires SMAPI and Content Patcher (duh).
@Seorei I just randomly stumbled over your comment, so I'm a bit late (looks like my notifications aren't configured right). I gave the mod another try with a fresh install using the newest SMAPI and Content Patcher and it still works fine just like on day 1, so you have to have made some mistake while installing.
Make sure Content Patcher and the Luna Cat mod are extracted into the "Mods" folder in your installation directory (don't put zip files, they are not supported). Also make sure the paths are correct - maybe you extracted the zip files into a subfolder, so the contents are in a folder in a folder, instead, directly extract the zip files into "Mods". The contents of each mod (manifest.json etc) should be under "...\Stardew Valley\Mods\ContentPatcher" and "...\Stardew Valley\Mods\[CP] Luna Cat".
All that said, you don't have to use the Content Patcher version, the original xnb file works just fine, it's just that Content Patcher mods generally are more convenient than xnb mods because they can easily be enabled/disabled by moving them in/out of the mod folder whereas for xnb mods you more or less have to verify game files to get rid of them, they can also be lost if there's a game update etc.

Would you please share the png or put it in a content pack so we can use it with beta?
Also, is that not a png you can use when you click on images? But I thought it had to be an .xnb
Sorry!! I'm confused. I'd be more than happy to help.;;
