the article linked in the description says mushroom trees are on all mine levels, but i've yet to see any and i've already unlocked skull cavern... was that taken out somewhere between that article being written to now or should i send a smapi log? :x
I just started looking at this a code a couple of days ago, and my first answer would be that I do not think this is multi-player ready. Once I get the single player code stable and I have a better understanding of how things work, I will see what needs to be done to make this multi-player compatible.
So what the mod previously did was the event was only visible and interact-able for the player it generated for. I think it would arguably be cooler if all players could see them (although potentially weaker) but whatever is needed to make it work in multiplayer I support. I only play stardew with friends so mods that don't work in multiplayer just can't be added to my collection.
I don't know if this is a new bug or from the original mod because I never played the OG but I've come a crossed two light up switch puzzles that can not be all light up in the skull cavern. I even had my husband try to help, who is exceptionally good at puzzles, just to see if I just wasn't seeing how to solve it and he said it wasn't possible. I wanted to see if anyone else was having the same issue.
This is definitely leftover from the OG files as I had that puzzle too many times where I started avoiding it. I swear it popped up on all my bad luck days!
I have to take a look at the original logic for the light puzzles. I encountered the unsolvable puzzles while testing but I thought it was just me not spending enough time trying to solve it.
One of the Questions the statue can ask you is "Which of these things can wear hats" Your Pet is one of the options but is still counted as wrong and needs to be updated. Also, I don't mean this to sound like a complaint, more like a note to help you when updating, but didn't seem like a "Bug" necessarily.
You're an absolute life-saver! I just need to figure out how to convert some of the old Custom Ore Node files over to the new Item Resource mod and my caves will be bearable again! Thank you so much!
Thank you for porting this. This is one of the favorite mods in my group that is missing from my updated modlist. Is this just going to be just a direct port or do you plan on fixing some of the long standing issues with the mod?
I generally update mods because they interest my player side. I wasn't sure about this mod at first, then I was doing testing in the mines and I found this mod to be very cool. Playing in the mines used to get a bit boring, but the semi-randomness of this mod makes them interesting. Long story to say, yes, I would like to bring this mod up to a 1.0.0 status. I did not look at the old bug list, didn't want to scare myself, but I will try to tackle any new ones raised here.
Well it seems one of them is already fixed. It was possible to fall into skull cavern from a trap in the normal mines before but that clearly isn't possible now. The most common issue I encountered was the 4 pillars from the puzzle spawning in a position where it blocked the player from solving the puzzle. I don't have to the time to test if this still happens now but if I encounter it in the future I'll submit a report.
Honestly I have never had any bugs with Underground Secrets and I have played with it for years. My suggestion is to make the riddles more lore friendly for Stardew Valley instead of being kinda non-sense, besides that some textures could be improved and I actually might try revamping them myself, the biggest issue is my lack of creativity to make the textures feel right in place lol. Anyway, thank you very much for this port it really makes mining way better and less monotonous.
