As far as hats go- I've spent the morning experimenting with coding, and have concluded that hats are simply not compatible with this mod. Unlike all other animals, horses load their hats through the same tilesheet as the farmer. There's no way to adjust the height of hats without also adjusting how it sits on your farmer's head.

As of the latest update (1.5), I think there's room for one more horse color, and then I'm going to focus on smoothing animation and other little details. My idea behind this mod is that whatever horse you pick feels like a unique guy, rather than a copy-pasted color palette (hence the different eyes, blushes, smiles, manes, etc). Therefore I want each option to be special and not super redunant - on that note, I probably won't add the donkey from the previous mod because the mule serves the same niche.
hello I really love this horse mod but the ghost horse's png is way bigger than the intended size making the horse not visible on screen. (In the AT version of the mod)
Hey there! You mentioned you still have some pixels to clean up, so you might already be aware of this. The void horse (texture_9) appears to have some floating pixels when facing behind and eating grass. Here's a screenshot:
I ran into this with one of my addons and it turns out that one of the sprites "next door" in the png was one pixel too close so I looked at texture_9.png and sure enough, the little extra mane you added (which looks great) was encroaching.
I took the liberty of cleaning that up as well as a stray white pixel in texture_0 I found while investigating. See if this DropBox link works and let me know if you can download it successfully. If not, I'll figure out another way to get you the files.
I'm from Camarillo and have gotten to pet and interact with Camarillo horses a few times IRL. I lit up when I saw Camarillo horses are an option. TYSM.
After installing the newest update, I logged in and my horse was "missing". I finally figured out that it defaulted to "ghost" and reverted it back to the white horse. After doing that, his hat seems to be missing now :(
When he was a ghost, I could see his saddle but no hat. I have no idea where it went :(
I'm really sorry to hear that :( I suspect its because I was play-testing the ghost right before I uploaded the update, so the Default in the config file changed. That's my bad for not switching it back to match the older version of the Mod, and I'm so sorry you lost your hat! I had no idea that that would happen... the mysteries of modding.
I absolutely love these sprites! Do you have any ideas if you're gonna add more? I personally think that a chocolate flaxen or palomino would look wonderful in your style, or even something like a regular white or black horse. I can't wait to but a horse with this mod!
I told myself I wouldn't add anymore and would just actually play stardew, but then I googled chocolate flaxen and I LOVE it, I have to add it. Watch for a future update haha!
LET"S GOOOOO! I was right, it looks stunning! I will definitely keep an eye out for any new coats or brand new mods. I am just so in love with your style!
This is a really beautiful sprite edit - kudos for that. Two minors things I personally don't like that much are the x-legs, especially when the horse is facing downwards, and the diagonally spread out front legs when running down. Dunno, it looks weird to me.
Still, the horse is beautifull and I prefer this to the vanilla sprite any day. Thanks.
