So every time i try to use this, it adds the healthbars way off to the left of the actual mob. both x and y offsets are set to 0, and the only things ive changed are the decay colour and hide at full health. Dont know why this is happening, but id like it fixed
There is a bug in either the game itself or SMAPI. In the game settings if you have Zoom set to 100% but UI Scale set to anything other than 100% the texts show up in wrong positions. Could you try setting your zoom to 95% and see if it works?
yeah unfortunately i play with 75% ui and 100% zoom, and dont really want to change it. Id rather have the zoom im used to than healthbars which sucks because this is some pretty good work
I don't think you'll notice a big difference if you set to 95% zoom, but I totally understand not wanting to change the settings you are used to. I didn't wanna make a workaround for this because once the real issue is fixed, I'll have to revert my own workaround. I might still try to make a fix for it and toggle it via a config option though it'll probably have to wait until weekend since my regular work is keeping me too busy these days.
I experience a drop in FPS from 60 to 10 specifically when I'm in the Crimson Badlands(SVE). This issue is isolated to the Crimson Badlands area, and SMAPI does not report any errors. After disabled this mod, it become normal(there are too many monsters). Anyways i really like this mod!
I've only tested with vanilla locations, haven't really thought about an area with too many monsters. I'll see if I can improve the performance. Thanks for mentioning it ^^
Glad you like the mod! Tbh I'm not very good with visual stuff, but I might give it a try for adding health bars when I got time. No promises though :D
Sorry, but I can't reproduce this behavior. Maybe some additional info can be helpful to spot if it's a bug. Which platform are you on? Do you get any error messages in the SMAPI console? Does the "Enabled Mod" option get unchecked or does it not work even though it's checked on game start up?
A few things I can suggest: - Make sure your game, SMAPI, and the mod are all up to date. - Unbind the toggle key to see if problem still happens. - Try a different toggle key. - Delete the mod's config file and let it generate again.
It's highly unlikely that this mod conflicts with other mods, but still it's a possibility. What other mods are you using?
Anyway to get a slider for Health Decay color. I like having white text but when I use the Health Decay slider I only get white, blue and green. Which is really hard to see with my color scheme
Thanks for the feedback, but I'm not sure if I fully understand your question. If you want to make the text white, you can uncheck "change color as health decays" and set the color to white. You can also make the text more visible by choosing a viable background color.
There are a few color presets for health decay you can choose from. If you want to have a custom color with health decay, it's not implemented in 1.3.0. I thought about it, but I wanted to keep it simple and don't clutter the menu too much since this requires selecting multiple colors. However, if it's something you wanna see in this mod, I might add an option in the next version to make it decay from a custom color to red. Or maybe 2 sliders to choose colors for max and min health, then make it decay between those. Anything more than 2 colors would be too crowded for the menu I think. What do you say?
Hello, could you share the resources you've read that you used for creating your first mod? I wanna try doing it too. Also, I was wondering if you're using Linux, if so, what IDE or code editor you used? Thanks for the mod btw!
With interface scaling all the numbers start to fly in the distance, sometimes even beyond the visible screen area. So yeah, right now mod properly works with 100% interface scale only. Mind to fix that?
Okay, seems like it only happens when zoom is at 100% but UI scale is anything other than 100%. I had zoom at other values too, that's why I missed it. Will fix it in a couple days at most. As a temporary solution you can set your zoom to 95% or 105% until I fix it.
Sadly it seems like this is a bug in SMAPI. If I do a workaround, I'll have to revert it once this bug is fixed in SMAPI. So, I'd rather just wait for SMAPI to be fixed. In the meantime you can set your zoom level to 95% and text will appear at correct position. Sorry for the inconvenience :(
It's a cool little mod, but I think there should be an additional config option: - Only display injured enemy health
When a far away enemy spawns, the health UI instantly reveals their position, which takes away the fun from fighting the types of enemies that are supposed to put you on their toes. If there was a setting that would hide the HP if the enemy is at full health, I think this would be a much cleaner mod.
Glad you liked the mod! This is actually added in version 1.1.0 as a config option "HideOnFullHealth". Just set it to true and it'll work the way you want ^^

Bonus points if you can make it match the styling/assets of the stamina/health meter for the farmer ;D
