THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THESE.... I've had a WIP recolor but was going nuts trying to make masks for everything!!! this will save me so much time!!! you're amazing for this <333
Mmhmm! Basically, since these are PNGs, you need the tilesheets, and a way to quickly separate the colors in these masks. I utilize CSP's "Select color gamut" option in the Select part of the menu, color pick from the mask, and it automatically selects all instances of the color. Most "advanced" art programs should have a similar feature probably, idk what program you use(and i honestly only know how CSP and SAI work), so i rec searching "how to select by color in [x program]" to figure out how/if it's possible in your program of choice. From there, i cut every color to new individual layers, locked opacity, and then changed colors and blend mode(mostly using color, sometimes multiply) to adjust the individual elements. Though i will say some of the masks aren't perfect and you'll have some stray pixels to fix, but it's definitely much more streamlined to do now! Hopefully this explanation helps ^^
Hi @katrieux, I'm so sorry to bother you, when using these to recolor do you put the mask above the tilesheet in a single canvas or do you have them each in separate canvases?
E: Figured out how to use the tool--please disregard, sorry for the confusion! Did not realize that you had to do the selection while the popup window was up.
Would anyone be able to explain how to use the paint masks for recoloring? I'm used to recoloring pixel by pixel, so if these would help speed up that process I'd love to know how to use them! Thanks again!
