There is now a video at the bottom of the description page to show the mods I've created so far (with time stamps) in game! so if you'd like to check it out, please do so! Once again thank you for all your amazing comments, feedback and support. I appreciate it so much.
Where can I find the fishing spot for river fish? I can only catch sea fish. For the fishing rod, you can craft it with the mod : Forge - Craft Your Own Equipment Or find one by mail with : Items to start with
This mod will modify the cave, so it will offset your farm cave mod. If you want to continue using your farm cave mod, please delete the cave folder in this mod. (The exception is Additional Farm Cave, which is not affected in any way.)
The standard edition works perfectly fine as only the farm map is changed so it will work with the expansions. However, the challenge edition changed the mine and Skull cave entrance maps (and so does SVE) so it would conflict with that one only or any map that also does that. So I'd say if you want to use the other expansions only use the standard edition. If you want to do the challenge version, it would be without the expansions :)
I haven't started exploring the mod yet, but I noticed that Deserted Island Farm Cave messes with my other farm cave mod that I have (they are both exclusive and so SMAPI loads none of them). I'm not sure I understand though, my farm cave is at my farm, why should Deserted Island Farm Cave try to edit that as well...? (Am I missing something?)
Hi there sorry for the slow reply I've been on a break for a while due to some major life changes. If you have the deserted island farm mod in your game with the farm cave I include for you, then if you were to open a different game on a different map, it's going to pull that farm cave map replacement for any other game of course (as it's a map replacement), just like if you had more than one map mod that replaced a particular farm etc. So all you need to do is take out that particular folder when you're not playing with this mod, and it will revert to any other farm cave map mod you might be using. :)
Just love the Farm. I do have a question and possible problem. Can I move the Farmhouse or not? ANSWER: NO, Can't move FarmHouse! I can't seem to move it at Robin's or is something Obstructing it? By the Way I am not playing the Challenge Mode, but want to know why the 2 floored Cave where the Ore is: why is the ore respawning so much and so many rocks, ores, and gems. It feels like I am cheating. Thanks for leaving me an answer. My game play can be found at ChotsPlace on Youtube.
Hi there, I'm so sorry for the slow reply I've been on a break for a while due to some major life changes. You should be able to move the farmhouse, however as it is such a small map with lots of things on it, it could be that there just isn't the room to in alternative locations, I haven't tried to myself yet due to it being made just for a challenge. As for the cave, it can be a little overpowered if the spawn rates are tweaked so what you can do is go into the FTM file for the cave, and lower the spawn settings for the ores, that will fix it for you to make it much less frequent and less in amounts. If you're not sure how to do this, send me a private message and I'll happily do that for you and send you a new file to try <3
Several days into a challenge-mode game I realized I was too mad at myself for the way I'd rushed through character creation (and forgotten to pay attention to which pet I was selecting, and forgotten to put monsters on the farm at night...) and so I decided to yield cheerfully to my ADHD impulse to start yet another new game, this time with the regular map.
Then I discovered that not only can you only have one of them active at a time, but in fact you also can only have one of them installed at a time, at least via Stardrop (and probably Vortex too) -- it couldn't tell the difference between the two versions, actively attempting to overwrite the original file and -- when I let it -- the "regular" version still says Challenge Edition.
... I'm skeptical, so I'm about to delete the whole thing and re-add it from zip-file scratch, but I gotta say -- as much fun as I was having, I am a little smidge disappointed that it isn't as easy as I want it to be, to switch between the two versions.
(I suspect for some it's a feature and for others a bug.)
Also I'm curious if it's possible in any way to modify the drop rate for the farm cave quarry to make it, uh, significantly less --
I ended up at level 10 mining by the 21st of Spring Year 1 and hadn't even made it to level 100 of the regular mines, using a mine shaft beacon mod as well (so there was very little mining in the regular mines, because I could be hyper-targeting the shafts) -- because of emptying out the farm cave daily, and because the scaling was based on skill level and not on which map/mine/level I'd reached.
(so, again: haven't reached the bottom of the local mines; already getting cinder shards, radioactive ore, etc.)
Hi there. Just to let you know the only difference between the two versions is the maps for the farm cave and mines, and Skull Cavern. If you have both in at the same time they will try to overwrite each other so the best thing to do is put them into a folder on your pc so you know which is which for whenever you want to switch them out. As for the spawn rates you cam easily adjust them by editing the farm cave FTM file amounts for each spawn type to your liking. I hope that helps! :)
This map is wonderful -- starting a who new playthrough for it! One recommendation: you can use the Mail Services Mod instead of the CBJ spawner for tool upgrades. It's a tad more immersive IMO.
Oh my goodness Luna! I needed this mod when I did my survival island series, this would have been so much better haha wow, great work. This is kinda low key making me want to create a new survival island series using your mod, what do you think...? We should work together!
Wow, Sharky! Seeing your amazing message made my day and means a lot, as like I mentioned it was you and your series that inspired me to make it in the first place! I would absolutely love to see you do another series like that and with this mod! Or I can make any adjustments you would like to personalise it for you if needed as well. I'd love to work with you! 💜

It is a really incredibly beautiful map, though!
