I found the whole 'small milk only' thing pretty stupid myself. Especially since my animals are max friendship/happiness so iridium large is like 99% of what they produce.
I could make alternate downloads for the various other languages that stardew has, it wouldn't take too long to do. I should have it up later today! EDIT: Version 1.1 comes with support for languages other than English, sorry about that!
I was honestly really surprised that this mod hadn't already been made when I went looking for something like it. It's actually a really quick and easy fix, just had to switch the item ID called for in the recipe file.
That's odd. I'm comparing my original cookingrecipies.xml to the one I edited both show up as 1.81 kb. Is it possible that you have installed another mod that added to the cooking files?
If you're unsure, I'd recommend making a backup of your original cookingrecipies.xml file just in case. My partner and I have been playing with the modded version without any problems, but it's always better safe than sorry.

I found CookingRecipes having different language labelled to it
