It is super easy. Just go into your Mods folder and find this mod ''[CP] Bernese by Gweniaczek'' inside there should be a config.json file. You can open it with simple notepad. Inside there will be this: { "collar": "red", "dogReplaced": "dog" } You can change collar by changing red into one of: none, green, blue, purple. Second config option "dogReplaced" tells the mod which vanilla dog to replace with Bernese. Lets say, for example, I chose 3rd dog in game so i would change the line accordingly: { "collar": "red", "dogReplaced": "dog2" } and save. After launching the game the changes should be applied.
There is also a GMCM mod that makes the process eaven easier -> you can edit config options with checkboxes in the game's title screen.
Thank you very much for helpful and quick reply I still couldn't do it with a notepad, but the GMCM mod helped a lot! And in general thank you for the mod, the dog is so cute and fluffy)
The second file ( under the ''Optional Files'' ) is a .zip version. Unpack/unzipp it and put the '[CP]Bernese by Gweniaczek' folder into Mods. After lunching game the config.json will appear inside that folder.
Works good and the dog is so cute, fluffiest dog mod I've found! I only have one small thing... He's always running into buildings lol! Like auto running forever into a wall. Especially inside, but outside too. It's kinda funny though. Thank you so much for the mod!
It works fine with 1.5 because pet files were not changed. I'm testing my another mod now on 1.5 and i have the dog running around as always. No update needed here c:
I LOVED this mod when playing on my desktop, but had to switch to laptop when my HDD crashed- I tried downloading this again and 7zip says the rar is corrupted. Is it possible to upload this as a zip? Thank you!
Quick question: Although I follow the description for installation, the dog texture isn't replace for the one in this mod. Can you help? Or would know why?
--------Update Never mind man. I was finally able to make it work by doing a clean install and ... wiping my saves in the process. *sigh*

The .zip optional download should be up as soon as nexus processes it.
