I can't believe I'm the first person to comment on this much-needed mod. Thank you so much for creating this; the fact that my tracking arrows were always aligned wrong was always so frustrating!
I do have one concern, though. I recently started a new save and put this into my "Must have Quality of Life" folder, of course. I was surprised, though, when I started playing and realized that I had the tracking arrows...even though it was my very first day of play and my Foraging level was still 1 or 2, not 10! Below is my SMAPI log - this is my 'kitchen sink' save (as in 'everything but the...') so there are a LOT of mods. But I disbled the Zoom Fix mod after running this log and rebooted, and the trackers had disappeared, so it's gotta be causing it somehow!
Anyway, thank you again! I'm really happy you made this mod - for now I'll just wait to enable it until I get my Foraging profession up a little higher. ^_^

Sorry for the late reply, I hadn't been checking this page. You're totally right - I was missing a check for the player to actually have the Tracker profession. I've gone ahead and uploaded a new version of the mod that should fix the bug - thanks for reporting the issue!

I've just uploaded a new version of the mod (1.1.0) which is compatible with Stardew Valley version 1.6.
