I really liked the idea of this mod, so I ended up taking inspiration and made a new mod "Convenient Inventory". It works with Stardew Valley 1.5.5 and includes more features, such as favoriting items.

"Stash items" on nexus works in a similar manner, but with a hot key an range. Just wanted to post that in case anyone else was in dire need for a mod like this.

The previous version that worked was fixed by someone on Chucklefish forum when author was absent, maybe someone can ask there if this mod can be fixed again?
I've used the unofficial update version from http://forums.stardewvalley.net/threads/unofficial-mod-updates.2096/post-20733 with no issues for a few minutes with version 1.5.2. I've tried stacking a few things and have noticed no issues so far. I read every page on that forum post looking for any other reports of issues, and I haven't noticed anything.
Let me know if anyone notices issues with the unofficial version, or otherwise if it seems to be working well for you too.
This is a really good mod, even if the official version is currently broken. It deserves more endorsements. Nobody likes inventory management. Everyone should have this.
I also looked through all the posts until today and found no mentions of anyone reporting the unofficial update not working that you linked to. I tested it on my farm on smapi 3.9.4 and it worked like a charm. I can't wait to get back to playing with this mod again!
Would love to see an update for this mod in 1.5! Hands down made my experience 100% better since my friends run vanilla but I could still sneak this mod in client side. I managed to update the Stardew ModBuildConfig package to 3.2.2 which got it running on smapi 3.8, but not sure if there are any long-term effects on it yet. It works for me for now, but would still love an official patch.
@Sithspector, I just recompiled the code with to the new version of their mod package, pretty sure its the same thing the link posted above did to get their version working, its listed there to download.
