For everyone having issues with Jello's latest RRRR version (which has a lot of sprites + portraits), download Jello's LEGACY portraits! This will disable style-related events but let you use these portraits without any hassle
I found out how to make the portrait and sprite mod work (sorry if this is late and you figure it out). To get the sprite to work, for the RRRR mod make sure to transfer the RRRR mod file from this mod on to the OG RRRR mod, and I made sure to delete the other portraits that are in the RRRR mod (Caroline and Pierre) I deleted them to make sure that I only had Nyapu style and nothing else, same with the wizard transfer the sprite mod to the RRRR mod and if there is any of the OG sprites of the Wizard, delete so the game doesn't use it. For second step, to go into game and open Mod Configuration (download that mod if haven't!!!) go to the RRRR mod configuration and to make sure that under the "Apperance" section on sprite its using the "Use included" version and the sprite should now work. Now to the portrait its not that hard, if you transfer the mod folder on to the Jello Vanilla-ish Wizard mod then it would not work (I still recommend you transfer this mods to the OG mod), but the way to get it to work is to remove the portrait of the Wizard from the Stardew Valley Expanded (The OG Nyapu Portraits to be exact) and then add this version of the portrait to the SVE Nyapu Portraits (I would recommend deletingthe OG wizard portrait and then replacing it). Sorry for the long winded explanation, I wanted to make sure I got every detail of the process.
For the portraits (1.6): - Moved "Wizard.png" portraits into "[CP] Nyapu's Portraits/assets", replacing the Wizard.png that was already there. - Moved the same "Wizard.png" portraits into "[CP] Jello's Vanilla-ish Wizard\assets\Portraits", but renamed it "Base_Uni.png", replacing the Base_Uni.png that was already there. - Note that "[CP] Jello's Vanilla-ish Wizard\assets\Portraits" contains its own Wizard.png but I don't think it is ever used. It looks at Base_Uni.png.
Idk if both are necessary but so far so good.
Didn't bother with the sprites. Jello's sprites have A LOT of custom things related to RRRR events that I don't think this version has. So I figure RRRR players are probably stuck with default RRRR sprites or Jello sprites.
i literally cannot get this mod to work !!!! pls help :( i did everything you said but what happens is the default portrait from the jello mod appears, but only certain layers. then i tried deleting those layers and it ends up using the default base game portrait?? i have NO idea what to do and its stressing me lol
the portraits for RRRR by Jello got updated with many many variations of the wizard. may i ask if you'd update this mod in the future as well? i just love nyapu's style too much and it goes in uniform with the other townfolks

edit: ok.. I managed to make the portrait work but the sprite still doesn't
