I doubt it's my addon that's the problem as you can see the character in the picture wearing custom hair! Make sure the hair addon is hair.xmd and not using hats (some use the hats.xmd for making bangs!) tell me if you find something. I'm simply not good enough at debugging things! Sorry!
I'm not sure what you mean when you say to make sure the hair is an .xmd? I have never seen this format before, and I've installed too many hair mods to count. They've all been .xnb. It still hasn't worked unfortunately. Cheers!
You can change the default hats to NOT change your hairstyle in the yaml one by one by changing the /false/true to /true/true 0: "Cowboy Hat/El cuero está desgastado y agrietado, pero aún es flexible. Huele a humedad./true/true/Sombrero de sheriff" #!String
(sorry it's in spanish)
However ghosty's hats mod doesn't contain these lines of text to be able to set to /true/true and when i try to add them in, my game doesn't load lol. maybe this brings you a step further in solving the mystery. if you figure something out let me know please ! I'd love to wear the flower crown with my hair mod.
Just wanted to chime in that I edited the Data -> hats.xnb to have "true" enabled for skipHairDraw (https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Hat_data), but Ghosty's hats still revert the custom hair back to a vanilla style.
Character -> Farmer -> hats.xnb doesn't have the hat strings, so like you said, was unable to edit then to have a /true flag. Sad day!
