Is this mod still working for everyone else? The only item I have unlocked from this is the uncapper, and I can't figure out how to unlock the rest of the recipes from this mod. I tried changing the files where it said that the items could be purchased to true, but I checked all the in game stores with no luck.
Edit: Ok, so there must have been an issue with my last download. I deleted and redownloaded the mod, and everything seems to be working now.
Am I missing something here, my apiaries don't do anything. They've got flowers, but they don't pulse, don't make honey. Do I need to put frames in them, pick up, and put them back down (done that), or something else? I don't have any errors, the mod just doesn't seem to do anything. Bee houses work, but I get no tooltip with apiaries saying when it'll be ready to harvest.
hi depending what version of the mod you downloaded you need to make the frames to stick in the apiaries to make them work, there is a version in the downloads that dont require the frames and doesnt include the machines they just act as better bee houses
so wild honey is meant to sell at the normal price of 150 g? thats what im getting (im using the mod with machines), seeing none of the price multiplyer ppl are mentioning
Hi! Is there any chance for a version or a config where i can set it so i only get honey from flowers like vanilla? :) thank you for the great mod Or maybe guide me to make it so on my copy
So I've done some more work with the mod. It's so fun and very strong, I love it. That said, is it intended to work with every crop? I discovered I was able to get Starfruit honey, hops honey, etc, that are scaled off of the crop price.
What kind of yield (amount of honey) should I expect per frame?
I only get 2 uncapped honey per frame, which feels real low for the investment, specially when the frames aren't re-useable.
Also, does the math change for calculating value? My regular Beehive was producing poppy honey at 380g, where the frame honey is 560ish.
Excited to see where this mod goes. I just finishing watching a docuseries that featured some bee keeping that showed uncappers and spinners, so I was excited to see this.
It's possible to get 3 honey from a spun frame, and honey is increased by 50%. With an average 2 honey at 150%, you're getting triple honey compared to a single beehouse. In the biggest version, you can process 6 frames at once, so each one is 6 beehouses, after processing, each level 3 apiary is the equivalent of 18 bee houses at once.
Thanks, that makes sense. I wasn't looking for a ridiculous increase in profitability, I just assumed I'd get larger quantities of honey instead of higher valued.
I just got the first couple built so I'll try to leave more feedback later. The only real issue I have at this point is the one time use of the frames. It wouldnt be so bad if it were just a wood cost. Fiber is a hard thing to produce in large quantities. Scaling production beyond a few apiaries may be difficult.
I personally altered my recipe in the config, to make them cheaper and give 20 per craft. You're absolutely on the money about fiber. It's one of the games biggest bottlenecks as is. I made it 10 fiber, 30 wood produces 20 frames. With that combined with the level 3 apiary's actual output, it's still a lot of fiber and wood to get, but much more manageable. If anything I think this mods real bottleneck is iron. It costs a LOT of iron to make anything on even a modest scale.
Edit: Not that that's a bad thing. It's a powerful mod, I like that it has a solid barrier to entry, the results are worth it.
I don't mind the high upfront iron cost. That's kind of Honey's identity. Large upfront cost for a continuous passive income. The only thing that hurts that identity is consumable frames.
If you consider the investment required to get sprinklers up and running, 10 bars for a tier 3 apiary isn't bad. If anything, I'd increase the processing speed of de-cappers and spinners so you don't need a fleet of them. Or at least their cost.
I ended up just taking the empty frame requirement out and coding the beehives to produce upon placement like vanilla in my personal copy. I'm expending a vast amount of time and energy gathering wood & iron building a (ludicrous) beehive installation. I'm paying my dues lol.
