Im in the new update where they added winter outfits. And it appears that the mod stops working once it is winter, I think its because of the new winter sprites. Idk how to override this issue if I can. Also there is no .xnb files for the mod sprite so I would only get the protrait. Which I didn't mind since thats all I really cared abt but, it would of been nice to get both.
For anyone curious, this appears to be working for version 1.6. I've not gotten any errors. I'll try and update this comment if I encounter any issues. (I am using the Vintage version.)
Hello! :) I recently downloaded this portrait, but it happens that, extracting it from the zip, there ain't any .xnb files, so It doesn't work. I really liked this portrait the first time I downloaded it, so I really hope there would be someone who can tell if it's normal nor to find the .xnb files! Or, maybe, who can help me to find out what's goin on, if it's my pc or the file itself.
Hey, seems that a) This mod is dead as far as updates go and b) a few people are having the same "brown box" issue when Elliott is asleep after marrying him. Well, I fixed that part, just replace the png in the assets/characters folder with this one and he should show up peacefully snoozing in your bed instead of a brown box that snores XD. I did not make any changes to the mod or his appearance or anything, I literally just fixed the PNG file to get rid of the brown box, but if the OP wants to take down this fix, that's fine. As long as they fix it themselves, idc, I was just tired of the brown box.
weird issue, whenever i load up the game it wont work it says the fromfile is trying to get something non existant (elliot sprite) even on content patcher
Heyo! If anyone is having issues with the 'CP New Handsome Elliott Portrait and Sprite' version, here's the fix!
It's because the sprite PNG's title is missing the second 't' which leads to the 'content' script not being able to find it. Simply go into the mod's file, then go into the 'assets' folder, and then into the 'Characters' folder and add the second 't' to the end of 'Elliot' to fix the error in Smapi. If you're having problems renaming it (mine kept reverting back for some reason), just copy and paste it somewhere outside the mod folder (I just put it on my desktop), rename it there and then drag it back into the 'Characters' folder and delete the original png. Lastly, if you're using Vortex, purge your mods and then deploy them again (two options towards the top of the window above your mod list) and make sure you select to 'save changes' if Vortex asks about the change to the mod otherwise it will revert it. And then you should be good to go!
This is also to help draw attention to the typo for the mod creator since it's easy to miss something small like this. The CP Vintage version doesn't have this typo and works perfectly fine btw :)
I also want to say that I love how you represented Elliott ^-^ It's that perfect mix of the slightly rugged/down-to-earth look but also the handsome/pretty/artsy image that his dialogue and personality show. I've never really liked the vanilla portrait of him (the side pose that they had him doing just looked weird and he also looked a lot older then I think he was supposed to be) and I've also seen a few other re-done portaits but none of them feel as accurate as this one. I've actually sacrificed the seasonal outfit change for specifically his portrait from one of the seasonal outfit mods I use through a bit of personal tweaking. Defintely worth his portait and his sprite not matching up outfit wise if only to have his face look like him. So big kudos to you, mod creator! You're the only mod creator I've seen so far that's done our poetic writer justice.
P.S. I also have both your dialogue expansions for him and they are brilliant. As a writer and poet myself, I am such a sap for the romantic poetics. <3
Hm... I feel this needs an update. A few new sprites and some portraits for him have been added since 2018 and it is causing some issues as some folks have said below. I would be happy to help with this, or do it for you!
