hi! just recently got some of the other furniture mods available from y'all. is there a ETA for this mod being moved to content patcher and calcifer?( if it even is going to receive an update)
This mod can't be moved to CP due to its limitations, but Flour has plans to move it to SF. It's just taking a while since she's busy with a ton of (new!) exciting projects. And also more HxW furniture ❤
I'm super curious, and I'm gonna ask here since you replied so recently. What's the solution gonna be to DGA being retired? I saw that some of the other HxW mods were updated with Calcifer to get rid of DGA, do you think that's the way forward (just a bunch of hubs for different authors)? Also, is DGA depreciated because the author retired or because 1.6 changed way too much and it's easier to start from scratch? Don't worry if you don't have an answer, I was just wondering since I can't really see a consensus. Thanks for all the hard work, you guys have some absolutely gorgeous mods. <3
I can't speak for Hime's future modding plans, but: it's the second one for DGA, spacechase0 is still very active and does wonderful modwork, but with all the changes 1.6 introduced DGA was basically rendered obsolete along with a gaggle of other frameworks and it's easier to just use Content Patcher, which 1.6 made MUCH more powerful, and newer frameworks made specifically for 1.6
Apologies I hadn’t seen this! As the commenter above me said, DGA was mostly deprecated by changes in modding that made it so most its features are now native to vanilla and thus can be accessed via content patcher. I know Casey (spacechase) is planning on merging the features DGA had that vanilla doesn’t offer into spacecore.
As for HxW, our mods are basically CP only now! Calcifer’s purpose is not to add the furniture itself, but to give our tables custom offsets and our furniture custom catalogues!
Way forward is definitely CP :) most DGA mods are likely to convert to CP. As for this mod in particular, it will be turned into SF !
sorry, i figured these types of messages were to inform the author its out of date so they're in the know. i know if no one comments on my mods i have no idea lol. was trying to be helpful, did not mean to sound impatient or put pressure on you, my bad.
The enjoyment of our mods is absolutely appreciated! It's just a deluge of these types of comments in the entire HxW suite. We are ready with the code, but unfortunately it takes time to update all mod pages and files as we go. It'll be ready soon!
we all appreciate your dedication. this mod is by far one of my faves and I look forward to being able to use it again and to see any future amazing work you do. thank you xxx
