I use this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5969?tab=images and recolored Lance's portraits and sprites to fit yours, maybe you want to include them here lmk
Hello! Thank you for the mod. I wanted to let you know that the dialogue didn't work for me straight away - I followed your instructions, but I was actually unable to talk to him at all, he was just literally non-interactable. I worked out a quick fix for myself and my sister so it's working now, and I'm super excited to see the writing work, but I just wanted to give you a heads up. Thanks again!
Thanks for letting me know! I wasn't able to replicate the issue on my end but I've repackaged and reuploaded the dialogue files in case there was an issue there. Thank you for your support!!
Ah, strange! I wonder if something in our setup caused an issue. Thank you for your time, OhLookAtThat!
In mine and my sister's case, seasideboy, I had to put back Stardew Valley Expanded's original dialogue files for Lance, and then make a new mod package that loaded OhLookAtThat's dialogue files as one content.json file as edits to the intact original files. I used FlashShifter's dialogue files for Victor and VeronaLuna's Victor Romance Mod's content.json as examples for how to implement the "call" for the edit, for lack of a better term. I noticed that OhLookAtThat's original file lacked this so I wondered if that might provide a fix. This is what my content.json for the new package looks like - it's easier than explaining since I'm kind of behind on modding terminology. ;^^
Here's that for the pre-marriage dialogue, followed by a paste of that section of OhLookAtThat's dialogue, and following that is the "separator" for the marriage dialogue and the pasted marriage dialogue, and finally what the end of the file looks like. I'm not sure if this is the best fix but it's been working for me and my sister!
hi brip! is there any way you could upload your version of the lance dialogue? i'd like to use it but I have the same issue and fixing it seems too complex for me to understand. thank you lol
also another thing I wanted to point out is that the dialogue worked for me at first until I updated to the newest version of SVE. it became impossible to talk to him. love the new portraits tho
Hey brip, help please! I like to think that I know a little bit about mods as I have had no trouble adjusting config files thus far but I need help with the dialogue fix and unfortunately your instructions go right over my head. It seems I don't know nearly as much as I thought I did! Would it be possible for you to upload the working dialogue like Gullacass suggested, or like a youtube video. Or even extremely dumbed down explanation?
Hi, is it possible to use this mod but only the dialogue part? I use my own portraits for Lance but would love to have some more dialogues for him. How would I do that?
