Came back to this mod while updating my modlist for 1.6.
Still the best pet sprite replacer mod in my opinion. Not too cute, not too over-detailed, but still looks just right when compared to how the real animal looks. I feel like for SDV there needs to be a balance between cute and realistic.
I appreciate the comment! I tried really hard to stick to the SDV style (it was difficult, I always want to add more detail lol) so it didn't stick out too badly. It has its flaws I'm sure but I did my best/ =D
Your efforts shows! We can clearly see what type of animal it is and even what breed. I really love this mod and those are some very pretty sprites!
Edit: I can't believe that I didn't look through your other works sooner. Your other animal AT textures are just want I need and always wanted. They look so lovely. A someone who grew up on a farm they are just perfect!
I play on steam and use this mod and it seemed to work fine. But now I have an issue, I just started a new game and my player got it's first pet now, a cat, which presented itself as a hamster through your mod. I bought the scissors to change it and I can change it to any of your animal textures except for the cat ones, I don#t know why, the only cat I can change it to is the base game ones, but I really wantewd yours to work. pls help
What system are you playing on? (PC,Linux etc) and what animal are you trying to change your cat to? If you picked one of the new cats/dog you will have to wait until I update
I play on a Windows PC and just updated to 1.6 stardew valley. I got a normal cat I think, and I wanted to change it to one of your cat textures, but they aren't even an option if I use the scissors. I can only change it to everything that replaces dogs somehow.

Hello and thank you for this great mod! The amount of work done here is amazing. Any chance you could do a black french bulldog sometime? Well, mine was black as a puppy but got some honey stripes when she got older so idk about dog genetics
Sometimes it happens for coats to reveal more markings as dogs get older and their fur pigment dulls. My sister is a French bulldog breeder and the amount of coat colors those guys can have is incredible. Frenchies are of course on the list for a future update. I will add black to the color suggestions. =)
Is this mod compatible with More Animals or other mods that allow you to have multiple pets? Is there a way to have multiple pets without additional mods to this one?
I'm fairly certain this mod would be compatible with more animals but I haven't tested it myself. if you don't want other mods you can use smapi commands to spawn in another cat or dog. I don't know it off the top of my head but I'm sure you can google it.
Hi, I'm not sure if this has been asked before- sorry if it has- but is there any way to get all skins available for all animals? I really want a guinea pig, but my farmer has a cat :(
you can use SMAPI to spawn in a dog if you like. It would take me a while to do turn every sheet into both dog and cat sheets because the dog sheet has more frames and would require me to go back and add things. Plus I have other stuff in the works so it would be a while before I consider doing that. The guinea pigs will be added to the additional animals coop mod as well if you want to have them in there as well though.
Finally!!! a mod that adds ferrets! and snakes and rats and just everything else you've added. some suggestions (I work at a nature center so I kind of have a lot, don't mean to seem demanding or anything) Tegus Geckos Hedgehogs blue tongue skinks Uromastyx black rat snake turtles/tortoises also portuguese water dogs would be cool
Hedgehogs, geckos, and tortoises will be in the alternate coop mod coming up and will most likely also be added to my upcoming alternate pet mod as well! As for the others mentioned I will add them to the list since I always seem to be looking for suggestions! my main issue at the moment is my alternate barn animal mod so if you have any suggestions you would like to mention for that feel free to apply your nature center knowledge if you like! you don't come off as demanding at all! thanks for the comment!

Sorry for the late reply! the problem is that the "t" in the "textures" folder is lowercase. You just need to capitalize it and it should work fine. I will fix that shortly! sorry for the inconvenience!
Edit: you may have to do it manually. I uploaded the file with the fixed capitalization but for some reason, it keeps reverting to lowercase.
