Hey everyone, the mod is now updated to version 2.0.0. This fixes lag in rare cases, but it also starts a transition away from saving grass in the mod folder. That makes updating easier because you don't have to worry about deleting it!
**When you update, make sure to not delete your Saved Grass folder (which is in the mod folder) or you'll lose your winter grass!**
Now, as you load a save and play on it, the grass data will be moved from the mod folder into the normal saves folder. That means that the Saved Grass folder in the mod folder will go away - this is intended and means everything is working. Once it's gone away on its own you can completely ignore it. (Just don't delete it yourself).
Now that 1.6 has adopted this functionality, just wanted to say, thank you for creating and maintaining this mod for all these years! It's been a staple in my games, and I really appreciate that you shared it with us all. <3
i've loved this mod for years! it now seems inherent to 1.6 from patch notes: Grass now survives in the winter, though it won't spread. However, cutting grass during winter is much less effective.

I have the same problem. I uninstalled the mod, but all the grass is still there in winter. I even played on for a year to switch seasons from fall to winter, but it didn't help. Does anyone know how to remove it?
I've noticed if you use grass starter on ginger island and it is winter in game then the grass will appear blue. Is there anyway you could fix this? It looks strange with the blue grass all over my island.
Its not really an issue. Starter grass changes its look with every season, as there is no "island" specific grass it will change as it does on the mainland. Even if you use a mod to change the look of your grass its still going to be the same everywhere you place it. The only solution i can think of is to maybe ask around in the discord and see if anyone wants to work on a mod that would somehow use spring/summer grass on the island. I don't really know how difficult that be or if its even possible but it never hurts to ask.

This isn't an issue, this is just SMAPI telling you that if something goes wrong in your game, look to this mod first as it "directly changes the game code". I have like 20 mods that do this, and have no issues. :)
Any chance you could make it so that this mod is compatible with Hardy Grass?? I might be able to dig into the files to do it myself but I'm not an experienced modder haha. Thanks so much :D

I've uninstalled the mod but the grass won't go away. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I think this mod is effectively base game nowI know this is an old post at this point, but something to maybe try is to install the mod, and then disable its features in the config settings?
