Just in case anyone has this issue. It seems that sometimes when I download files here, I get a weird error like "Cannot open or corrupted". I've found that right-clicking on the "corrupted" file, clicking "Open with.." and pointing it to the usual program I open my .rar files with tends to work out. Hopefully, this information will be of use to someone!
I came up with a temp fix for 1.6 and beyond, introducing a winter and beach outfit. It's not a perfect fix. Please keep in mind this will only keep his portraits all looking the same and will not add a winter or beach outfit to them. Before attempting this please be sure to back up the following files so you can reverse any changes if you don't like this: Elliot.xnb, Elliot_Winter.xnb and Elliot_Beach.xnb located here-->\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Content\Portraits
1. Install the mod as usual here-->\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Content\Portraits Let the Elliot.xnb overwrite the original file.
2. Now from the zip file drag another copy of Elliot.xnb onto your desktop and rename the file Elliot.xnb to--> Elliot_Winter.xnb
3. Install the renamed Elliot_Winter.xnb from you're desktop to here-->\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Content\Portraits Let it overwrite the original file.
4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 only this time rename the Elliot.xnb file to Elliot_Beach.xnb.
If you don't get a prompt asking if it should overwrite the file please double check to make sure the mod files have been renamed correctly. (Hey fingerslips happen.)
Hope this helps! ^_^ Again it's not perfect but now his portrait will look the same all year round however with no new outfits.
basically drag and drop the new Elliot.xnb file (after you extracted it) into the portrait file. Your computer should say that you already have a file called that, would you like to replace it, then just press yes

It still works in my game, however during the winter Elliott goes back to looking like his old self. This is due to this mod doesn't have winter portraits. Hopefully, DreamBurrow will come back and fix this soon. I posted a fix above yours. It's not perfect but will keep him looking the same year round. No new outfits, that's why we need DreamBurrow. They will need to edit their work to give him those new outfits.
I'm having trouble with applying this mod. In the description it says "extract file" but when I download the file there's nothing to extract. It also says there should be a new elliot.xnb file but this gives me a .rar file.
Hi there! I sent a comment through the contact section, but it just was sent back to me, I guess that doesn't work! I also tried to find you on chucklefish, but I guess I'll just write you here! :D
Anyway, I love your Elliott portrait!! I'd been using it, and then decided I wanted something slightly more masculine with a squarer jaw and more shoulders. I sort of tweaked yours, a version of Eemie's and the vanilla portrait to get the one I'm using now.
I hadn't been planning on uploading it anywhere, but recently I published some dialogue edits for Elliott. I had taken out my custom one and put yours in to take pictures, but I forgot on a couple of them, and so have had people asking me where I got it. I don't want to share person by person, or upload it if it's something you're not comfortable with! I've written Eemie about the same thing, too.
Anyway, thank you for making such a great Elliott for us!
(I know this is from forever ago but) thank you so much for this! I love Dreamburrow's Elliot portrait--a little bit too much hahaha the portrait reminds me of someone I've held dearly for a long time and so whenever I see the portrait, I feel like I melt a little bit *too* much. Like "aw man this isn't fair I need to be able to give all the characters equal chance" XDD I took a look at your tweak and it's really good! It has everything about DB's portrait that I love, but the traits you brought out in him make it really distinct inside of my brain that "this is very cute, and this is Elliot! Yay :D" the way thinking works sure is a funny phenomenon.
He's much prettier in this one (not like the og isn't, I just really love the way dreamburrow envisions elliott!!) and I'm so in loveee
one problem tho... I have the seasonal outfits installed and it just feels wrong when I see all the other npcs in their diverse outfits and my boy is always wearing his original fit :'> hope we get an update sometime
I love your version of Elliott and I consider this mod one of the essential mods for SV. Your Elliott is exactly how I imagined him. I wonder if you would consider making his portrait compatible with the "seasonal villager outfits" mod? You can find it here: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2449?tab=description
