You sure it's in the right folder? For anyone having issues with this; go to Stardew Valley -> Content -> Maps. Make sure to backup the map file and be sure it's names correctly to replace the foraging farm map. Then make sure you select the foraging farm at the start. Worked perfectly for me since these maps came out. :) I put a picture up for people looking for a potential layout plan as well.

I might not be doing it right, but I can't seem to get the alt farm map to load up properly. I can load types 1, 2 and 3. It's only the alt map that's not working. Is there any way to get that specific map running? I'd really like to play it

Lol by the end of the first year? I end up with the default map full off crops with sprinklers and like a hundred thousand dollars by the end of the first month. (Mining tends to do that) This is just perfect, a nice quaint farm that cuts down your earnings to something reasonable, where you can care for your farm and be off to other things before afternoon. It looks fantastic with the other mods I'm running as well. Thanks for making this. :D

I love this farm. I picked the alternative farm. I always have so much room left over at my farm because I mainly mine so it’s just a pain. This...I love...I still don’t use the pretty opening with the pond or whatever but it’s pretty and well,, since I can sit. Lol. I love this. Love this. Thank you so much.

I am probably doing something stupid but when I enter the farm using the south entrance (near marnie's) I get stuck off the map and can't move.
I presume I have installed it wrong or have something conflicting just not sure what!
    Could someone help please?

I love the look of this farm and REALLY want to use it however, I feel like a moron and must be missing something. I followed your instructions and placed the Farm_Foraging.xnb in the content/map section but when I go into my game, it is still the standard map. What step am I missing to replace the standard map with this one?

Okay I did have a moron moment there. Well if anyone else out there feels silly like I just did, here was my issue.
Don't load a game with the standard farm. This uses the 'Forest map'. Wow what a facepalm moment!

Can you add a mix of the "Alternative small farm: " and the "Type 2"

Like keep the top part in type 2, with the two fields, but add the bottom half of the alternate clearings in the trees, without all the extra decorations??

    Pretty please :O

I would love this to. I love Type 2, but would like that extra little space in the bottom right from the alternate map. I would settle for alternative type, but I just love the loose stone pathing in type 2.
