I can't get my game to work now that I've downloaded this mod. I don't know if its conflicting with another dialogue mod that I have. I was wondering if anyone knew how to restore the file to its original version? When I open the properties it doesn't show a previous version but it shows that its been modified? Or if anyone knew where to find the file of the original version?
Thank you so much for this! Linus is one of my more favored villagers to befriend so this really catches my fancy. He's a cool guy and this makes it that more fun when I talk to the dude. :)
I lovee this new version! his quotes are lovely and for perfectly with the druid mod I'm using~~ personally I like how open he is,but I have him at a high heart level so it fits. (its been like a year since I saw any heart events for him, too, so jdk how closed off he was before) just wanted to let u know how much I was enjoying it, I love your dialogue expansions a lot~
I really liked Linus before and I'm 50/50 on this mod. I enjoy his new dialogue and the humor, but it is, imo, a stark contrast to his previous demeanor. At the very least, it's way too much too soon.
I played through 10 heart levels and almost two years before restarting with mods so I had a lot of time around Linus. He was meek, wary, and cautious of everyone and everything. It can be seen in his demeanor during festivals, heart events, and through the first few heart levels. Afterwards he becomes more open to the main character and exposes that this is his choice and such. It's a really good character friendship evolution.
With this mod... Within the first Spring and barely two heart levels, Linus was wide open and full on Druid. It really feels like he eats magic mushrooms all day, every day. He's open, speaks at length daily, and clashes heavily with his heart event scenes. He was giving me 4 pages of friendly dialogue and acting comfortable and friendly before his trash shame scene. Then, again, comfortable and open and friendly and 'live in peace farmer' happy go lucky...then back to a scared, shamed, meek shadow of a man at the next festival. I get that I'm becoming his friend, not the town, but the two totally different attitudes are odd at best.
Thanks for your feedback, as always, Knirp! Version Two Linus is definitely open way earlier, and since writing it, it hasn't sat well with me. I'll probably do a Version 3.0, and meet in the middle.
In the mean time, you can still use the previous mod, as the file is saved on the file page!
I hadn't actually noticed that, since I had Linus at a high disposition when I installed the mod anyways. Good to know that someone was willing to test it on a new save, and I'm glad you're already picking up on the issue yourself, haywrites. There are few greater pleasures than seeing someone continue to improve their work.
@haywrites when i first talk to linus with your mod he seem calm like if we been friend for a long time feel too soon for him to be friend with main character like that i think you make him have out going personality that's ok since he is one with the nature you only need to slow down his open feeling a little bit
So after playing around with this for a while, I can say I'm thoroughly enjoying it. The new lines seem to be Linus's original personality, but dialed up a notch. There's also a good bit of humor in there that seems to fit his original disposition, which I absolutely love. Overall, this mod makes Linus a lot more expressive in his day-to-day dialogue. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it's a definite improvement over the original.
I really love that this gives Linus more stuff to say but it, sadly, doesn't feel like Linus anymore. The more cheerful Linus that is content with his lifestyle doesn't seem to match with this new "where did I go wrong" Linus.
I hope you do do an update. I love your ideas and your writing is top notch, but after many months of playing using this mod, I came to realize that it doesn't feel like Linus - it actually feels more like Shane between his 4 and 6 heart events.
What's that you say? Christmas is coming early this year? Well hot dog, sign me right up. eagerly await any news on this one, Linus has always been one of the better characters in my eyes.

I was in such a rough spot when I wrote him, I feel I may have overdone it!
I'll post an update when I get the chance to.
