Original author is reported here to be retired from modding community but there are other modders who can make an updated mod based on his code (he given permission). Or you can make a request at https://forums.stardewvalley.net/threads/unofficial-mod-updates.2096/ to see if any modder is willing to update the mod for SdV v1.6.
Be careful when using the in-game lighting values: only these values are valid. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
As listed on the wiki, but some don’t seem to match? not too sure. * 1 (lantern); * 2 (window); * 4 (sconce); (I feel like this more like the blue torch lighting texture, i don't know why 4 is calling up that texture) * 5 (cauldron); * 6 (indoor window); * 7 (projector). * 8 (fish tank).
(any other number INCLUDING 3 and 9 will crash your game, wiki even mentions this)

Another thing. If you create a custom lamp, turn lamps OFF before you pick them up to move them. If you don't do this, it can leave the light drawn in the world. Also the mod lighting controls won't work for furniture that can be placed on other furniture. (example: a plant on a table)
what is the difference between a window and an indoor window?
Also, what am I doing wrong... I wanted to dim a window and hovered over it & used the scroll wheel, but all that happened was that the scroll wheel scrolled through my tools row.
I tried to find something to disable the row scrolling, since I never use that feature, but came up with nada.. zip.. nothing
I fee dumb now for admitting this, but I'd rather be seen as dumb and find a way to use the mod than be quiet and never find an answer
Window is this weird square orange texture, I'm not sure where it's used game actually actually! it might be for NPC windows? but I have no idea.
Indoor window is what you are talking about, and what you see when you hang windows in your house with that intense white light.
Unless you're creating custom lights, there no need to know about one or the other. The issue is the mod isn't working with indoor house windows and I'm not sure why. Maybe aeden will address this. You're not doing anything wrong, and its okay to ask questions. :)
Thanks for trying... the blinding light from all inside windows has been a nuisance for me & I was so glad to see something that might dim them a bit. I hope the mod does work out for that...
Try to scroll with an empty row? I have four rows of inventory, my fourth is always empty. I will make sure I am on the fourth and empty row when I scroll
Can confirm the inventory has nothing to do with it. I know adenthorn - the mod author - has already said as much (obv they would know xD) but I was having trouble making it work too. I've found it's about where your cursor is on the light type item you want to adjust. There's a special "hit box" type area to tweak the light settings. If you try to scroll to adjust the settings while your cursor is outside of this area, you'll just scroll thru your inventory. Figured this out by accident. Hope it might help others.
Windows placed outside, or in any other place, custom rooms for instance (forced with mod) isn't able to dim. Was wondering it was possible to make it dim-able in all locations, forced?
Thank you so much for this mod. Now I can reduce the number of lamps and use the space for more decorating. It also works on the lamps you put on the farmland, which is pretty cool.

EDIT: After trying this mod out, yeah I'd say it's broken. Absolutely nothing happens when I try the controls described in the description.
Please update/fix this mod. It's a very good idea; something that should have been included in the base game.
Thanks!
