Been using this mod and I noticed that this happens with the pants occasionally when using the watering can. Is this something that can be fixed (and if so, who can fix it?) or should I just rely on the vanilla version of the pants?
Thank you for the video, I finally understand what people were talking about when they reported this before. I've never been able to replicate it myself, but I will try doing what you did in the video and see. If I can replicate it, I almost certainly can fix it, but it might be a bug in Fashion Sense or a bug in the content pack, so it will take me some time to narrow that down and then fix it.
That is wonderful to hear, if it helps additionally, moving in a direction and using the watering can at the same time seems to trigger it more often. TYSM for the support :)
Sorry if you're busy/occupied, but i just wanted to ask if you've been able to figure out the issue i mentioned, it's totally okay if you can't/haven't been able to :)
Thanks for the reminder, unfortunately life has gotten quite busy recently. I will try to get to this when I can, but the upcoming game update is taking up a lot of my time and attention.
Thank you so much for creating these fantastic mods and tools! I've successfully used the SkirtConverter to transition some JA mods into FS, and everything is running perfectly on my computer. Additionally, it's just a thought, considering that Fashion Sense also supports creating HD modules. Would it be possible in the future to make the converter applicable to images with the same vanilla layout but larger dimensions, such as 768x2752? English isn't my native language, and I'm using a translator, so I apologize if the sentences seem a bit odd.Once again, thank you very much for your work!
So... dumb question. Is there a simple way to get 2 leg slot items worn one under the other with this mod (namely pants under a skirt, but thats a separate mod)? I don't know if its been explored already. Like if that functionality exists that I could config in I would like to know. If its not possible due to issues, (clipping, api, something else? idk modding can get complicated) that's fine, just kind of want to know is all.
I believe Fashion Sense limits users to 1 pants at a time. You could take the sprite sheets for the pants/skirts combo you wanted and overlay them in an art program to make a combined pants/skirts item.
I've done some experimenting with the issue where the pants clip through, and I may have found a solution (if you haven't already). I used your skirt tool to generate "shoes" that are just bare legs and shoes and converted the file accordingly. On these shoes, I removed the EndWhenFarmerFrameUpdates property and added AppearanceSyncing instead. These shoes combined with the pants syncs perfectly except for the very first frame of the shoes, which ends up being the horse riding frame. As far as I can tell, that's the only issue with it. I'm guessing it's briefly displaying the horse frame before it registers the RidingHorse property, for some reason? I'm not confident with how the animations are set up, so I could be missing something obvious.
You are an absolute madman for making your skirt tool btw, I was pulling my hair out just deciphering the file with how many frames/conditions there are. Thank you for doing the hard part for us!
For the running/walking, I ended up swapping out how the code was done to do same-frame conditions for those two at a fairly high priority (not quite sure if it's the same as what you did because I implemented this a while ago and only just got around to uploading), and at least qualitatively that seems better. I've also tested out the watering can frames just now with the latest version (as the other user below reported issues) and at least for Genie Pants it looks identical to vanilla, so it's possible the fix I implemented worked for that too.
If you download the latest update (about to go upload it right now) and happen to notice any further issues, please let me know! I'm happy the tool helped you, feel free to report issues with it too (either Github, Discord, or here).
Edit -- the fixes in this mod are the same as the June commits in the Github repo for the script, in case you were curious
You are a genius, that seems to have done it! At the very least, it works a lot better than what I found. Thank you, it bothered me so much not having pants in fashion sense. You're amazing!!! <3
hey so i rlly like this mod but the dyeable farmer pants have some weird glitchy issues where the farmer base peeks through when moving along with the pants " bunching up " when using the watering can
Hmm, the watering can frames should be pretty well-tested, but I’ll take a look. The running/walking ones are definitely a known issue, and I might have a fix for those.
i assumed it was bc i use the farmer base from the seasonal slightly cuter aesthetic mod but i tested it w/o and it also was an issue there too. there also seemed to be similar issues with the shorts too ( idk if the other bottoms have issues bc i dont use them as much ) anyways thx for responding!
sadly the farmer pants still seem to have the watering can issues but the walking/running frames seem good it does seem like its a common problem with the longer pants bc the shorts and skirts seem alright albeit a few visual glitches
I checked the Genie pants and I didn't see anything different from the vanilla genie pants, I did notice the side (left/right) watering animations are indeed weird af. Are you looking at the facing upwards or some other orientation?
I just double-checked the Farmer Pants both in the normal way (just wearing the pants, no FS) vs. the Dyeable Farmer Pants from this mod and I don't visually see any difference in the facing upwards or sideways watering animations. I definitely agree they're kind of funky, but unfortunately if you want them to look better/smoother than vanilla animations I think you might need to try a different pants/skirts mod.
Sorry for disturbing, may I make the female farmer wear the male farmer's version of farmer pants by changing something in this mod? I'm so tired of the ugly female farmer pants.Or is this due to farmer bodies?
From examining the pants, they are generally identical between the male/female versions other than a few specific animations. I don't know offhand what would be wrong in your case, but this mod iirc uses the female sprites. If you want the male sprites, you can play around with the Python converter I made and use the optional arguments, but it's a much more involved process than just downloading a mod, and requires you to run a Python script. Fashion Sense doesn't differentiate between male and female for clothing, so any clothing from this mod or any FS mod applies to all genders.
I seriously appreciate this mod (and your pants converter tool) so so much!
However - both your mod + the converter have an issue with the farmer sprite base peaking through some pants. The Dyable Farmer Pants show the farmer's ankles when moving (when the vanilla pants do not; I swear I'm not a Victorian prude!), and the Dyable Tight Pants have some pixels peaking through when the farmer is facing backwards and when they move left/right.
(i only have info on those two pants, unfortunately, as I was referencing your files and using your converter to make pants specifically for an upcoming mod of mine.)
I definitely would believe there's a couple pixels off, but I wasn't able to figure out why. If you have a guess as to why I'm happy to fix, but otherwise I'm not sure I can get too much closer to matching vanilla exactly. Unfortunately the farmer sprite frames are a bit of a nightmare to handle.
That's totally understandable re: farmer sprite frames - I'm honestly in awe of anyone that is even willing to take a stab at making clothes knowing how many frames you have to account for. I just thought I'd let you know re: the pixels being a bit off, in case you didn't already. I wish I had an idea of how to fix it :C
this and the FS vanilla acessorites by another modder didn't show up in my game, and I'm not sure why., all my other fashion sense packs work fine and i didn't get any error messages !
Looking through the log, Fashion Sense claims both packs are being loaded. Does the issue still occur if you remove all mods except Fashion Sense, Error Handler, and this FS pack? If that fixes the issue, try adding back in all your FS packs and test again. If the issue reappears at that stage, it's somehow a conflict between FS pants. If that doesn't fix the issue, it's a conflict between FS and another mod. At that point you would have to add back in mods a few at a time until you find the conflict.
