Updated to be compatible with Stardew Valley 1.6 Now has one file for download (instead of 2). Use settings.json to disable features you don't want. Report issues if any.
good question. both mods use unlocking recipes on level up but it happens in different cases (this mod unlocks recipes for leveling up of all vanilla skills while another mod unlocks recipes for newly created skill - cooking). that part should be compatible and co-exist. gaining XP and leveling cooking skill should also work as expected however, that mod alters existing recipes so we can have an overlap there, as in, one of the mods will have higher priority over such edit and you will end up with altered recipe according to that mod. It won't be game breaking, just one of the mods will take over recipes. back up your save, see which one is the winner :) also don't forget you can turn off changing recipes in settings, so that way you can enjoy both mods.
I like the way you made the mod, actualized and straight forward, it works nicely for the game. I wanted to make a petition if you find the time, you see, it bother me that honey could no be consumed and has very little use on game unless you load up some mods... most of which are broken now. Maybe you could process the honey from combs and have the chance use it for cooking... like just adding some honey to bread or fruit makes an empowered food (not more expensive, money is not the goal...) all I want is to be able ate some honey in the game, a delicacy as old as time. Thanks for your time. Please if you don't have the means or time just ignore this note. Keep up the great work!
good idea! I'll see what I can do, no promises for time frame because I'll need to research this topic further and the free time is a bit limited now. I'll post here once something is ready. meantime, have you tried this mod? it has at least one dish with honey and you can turn on/off other recipes if you don't want them https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/23253?tab=description
do you have SMAPI and Content Patcher installed? any error messages in SMAPI window when you launch the game? you can follow instructions here https://smapi.io/log to upload your log then when you click "parse" it will show in colors if any mods are ok or have errors.
Yes, it alters same things as cooking mod. tho it uses different tools to do so. cooking mod uses Json assets and its corresponding dependencies, while my mod uses only Content Patcher and SMAPI. I created it specifically that way to make sure the game isn't bloated with many frameworks and performance is good. Cooking mod you have mentioned has more features and more robust than my small mod, it is cooking overhaul in general. My mod targets more simplistic goal - to make all (even cheap) food worth cooking, let player cook it from easily obtainable ingredients (for example you despise farming, so you can have few recipes you can make early in game by doing foraging or fishing). No need to use both mods, just pick one depending on your play style and goals in game.
It's in base game. Even if i use game without mods (Stardew Valley 1.5.6 from steam + latest SMAPI) it still shows items count. probably they added it to the game in recent updates? which version of the game do you use?
I'm using 1.5.6. Strange. I remember having that item count before then it disappeared when I did a reinstall, but that was years ago and I haven't seen it since. Must be some conflict with one of the mods I have installed.
