Hey, I was wondering. Would you like it if I made an alternative textures version of your mod here that you could use to update this for Alternative Textures use?
I'm working to try and resurrect older mods for Alternative Textures use, and doing so would also allow the texture to become paintable. I'd give you the files necessary to update this entry for alternative textures, or I can upload the Alternative Textures version and credit you. Or if you'd rather I'd not, I'll drop the question entirely. It's up to you.
Omg please do so! these are the only farmhouse's textures that I find nice-looking without being too overloaded with decorations. Sadly I don't know how to use them with current updates.
I would kinda prefer to have the mod creator's approval first since they seem to be somewhat active. I do plan to upload a pack of abandoned textured mods when I get the time, but according to this person's activity they're still hanging around so I want to wait and see if I get a response.
It's been a while and I'm kinda rusty at alternative textures but the next time I have time and motivation, I'll convert this.
Edit: By Rusty I mean I haven't dabbled in how Alternative Textures works now in 1.6. Some things have changed and I want to make sure I'm using the framework correctly. It should ideally not be a monumental task. Should I have the energy (I work a very draining job) I should get to it this weekend. Thanks for pinging me about this again, otherwise I would have absolutely forgotten about this.
EDIT 2: TURNS OUT, I had all the files ready to go, I just had to fix some of the old code I was using.
Hey notmigi, inside the downloaded mod folder your going to see 3 options for houses/stables each with two XNB files. BEFORE copying those you are going to locate your stardew valley folder. location C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley and within that folder click on content/buildings. Now, make a folder and save your original Stable and house somewhere safe(desktop or elsewhere) just in case you want those back, they both say something like stable.xnb farmhouse.xnb. (Drag and drop those files saving those original XNB files) Now, go to the downloaded folder and copy the 2 XNB attachments and paste them within the building folder within the content folder. Install complete!
This is easily the most stunning edit i've ever seen of the farmhouse, but I wish there were matching farm buildings for it. If you ever decide to pick this up again, I'd be over the moon for an update with more buildings!
seconded! these farmhouses are so lovely, I would feel absolutely blessed to have other farm buildings in the same or even complimentary color schemes!
These houses are so cute! Thank you for sharing these! By the way do you think you would ever do the other buildings too? Because that would be awesome, if not I understand though, I'm sure it's a lot of work to change all of the buildings like that.
