youre a saint this is sooo so helpful, i accidentally dinked up the vanilla wallpapers with a mod (not sure which one) and now i dont have to figure out how to fix it!! thank you thank you thank you
This mod is absolutely amazing! Its honestly so useful- Could You also do some more stuff like grass, monsters, kids, crops, Etc.? obviously you don’t need to, but I would, and I’m sure many other would enjoy it!
Thank you! Is there a guide anywhere for all of the things you can retexture? I was looking for the different types of monster, I don't know what they're called :-)
If you check the alternative textures wiki under "characters" it generally outlines this. Most monsters can be retextured! If you unpack you game file and check out the Monsters.json it also lists all monster names.
Ah, now that I'm checking, it looks like it's a Content Patcher mod, not AT. ^_^; Apparently I have too many mods, since I can't keep track of what does what! I'm sorry for the confusion. ^_^;;;;;;;
Thank you again for the mod, though. It's already been very useful. <3
Thank you so much for this! I love having the option to mix vanilla textures in with the modded versions. <3
I was wondering, at some point might it be possible to get a "bushes" version? I'm really enjoying some AT mods that alter the bushes, but I would be glad of the chance to mix it up a bit with the vanilla versions. <3
Either way, I'm grateful for the work you've already done in putting together this mod. Thank you again!
So I was using the animal assets to try and make an alternative textures version of my Rabbits into Pikachu/Pichu mod and I've hit a snag I don't quite understand. I've updated the variations and set everything as it should but for some reason I keep getting this message every time I try to retexture while testing.
I'm sure it's something I did wrong, I'm not the best with code so these frameworks are a live saver.
Okay so adding just the vanilla pack in, even that's not seeming to work on the animals for me. All of them give this error message when I try to change their skins. I know it's not adopt n' skin causing it because I can change the pets just fine.
I'll grab my smapi log to see if that might tell us what's going on.
I think this is a new bug with the alternative textures framework. I've reported this to peacefulend. From what I've seen it doesn't happen on every save. Try making a new save and see if you still have that trouble? Normally the error message for not having available textures is "character_rabbit" without the stardew.default at the start. Trouble is since I can't get it to happen reliably, and no one else seemed to be having this issue, I've been delaying reporting it to PeacefulEnd. So thank you for reporting this!
Okay so I've made a new test save to do all the things I need to, to get farm animals.
Doing this on a fresh save caused everything to work as intended with Vanilla textures.
I then added in the file where I made my Rabbits into Pikachu and Pichu compatible with Alternative textures it works as intended too.
The only thing I could think is maybe the file I was testing on is an older file, about a year old. Otherwise I'm not sure why it consistently happens on that save.
