I apologize I'm still new to this mod thing, I downloaded the pack and unzipped a folder. Inside was a "skins" folder and I drug and dropped it in my Stardew Mods folder itself. However when I run SMAPI, it states that the "skins" folder is an empty folder. I just was curious what I did wrong! I love the look of this mod and am excited to get it to work! :)
A fair question! The "skins" folder is meant to be used with the mod "Adopt n Skin." I have 2 versions of this mod, one to use with the mod "Alternative Textures" and one to be used with "Adopt n Skin." So, first you'll need to download and install "Adopt n Skin," using the method you just described. Then, take the skins folder from my mod and paste it into the assets folder inside the Adopt n' Skin folder. You should be good to go after that.
If you find other skins you want to use alongside these, instead of overwriting any of these files, you will just have to rename the new skins before dragging them into the appropriate folder (say you want to add extra brown chicken skins; if you are using mine AND want to use someone else's, just download the new skins and before dragging them in, rename them so they don't overwrite the ones you want to keep. Mine end after BrownChicken_2.png and BabyBrownChicken_2.png. Rename the .png files for the extra skins so they start at BrownChicken_3.png and BabyBrownChicken_3.png)
You forgot to make baby versions of the rainbow ones so I had to "make" (recolor) some makeshift baby sheets, but aside from that I like the additions.
omg, this was my favorite chicken mod back in the day to the extent of altering the other chickens I had in photoshop so that they all could match lmao. insanely grateful to come back to this game two years later and see that this got an update! the dnd dragon colors are insaneeee! but my personal favorite is the green/blue one because it's adorable. thank you for sharing ;__;
edit: just saw now that you're not the original author because I'm an idiot who can't read, but thank you tua for sharing this to begin with and a big thank you to you for adding to them! amazing work, you guys!
