When my cursor hovers over the animal I want to buy, the menu instantly closes? Has anyone else experienced this issue? Uninstalling this mod fixed the issue, but if possible, I'd like to keep using it because it used to work for me and was really convenient.
with the progression mode on, does that mean I would have to get 100% perfection for golden chickens to be sold, see Shane's 8 heart event for blue, and get a void egg to buy void chickens? or are they tied to coop sizes?
Yes, the error is triggered by BFAV. To pin-point the edge case here, it is only triggered for animals where the default names have been changed. For example, if you hover above Duck, Goat, Pig, etc. (animals with no name change), there will be no errors in the smapi logs. But if you hover above the White Chicken, Brown Chicken, etc. (animals with name changed), you will see the error in the SMAPI logs because BFAV expects the default value there.
Since both mod patches the game code related to Farm Animals, there will be issues like these. I can do some modifications to avoid the errors, but I don't see the point of having both mods installed at the same time.

Because we want to be able to have custom animals and still not have to reroll for the color/type of animal we want? I don't have blue or golden or void chickens added as extra animals to buy via BFAV (no need. They're already part of the game, and I don't want to add them just to cheat and get around the unlock conditions). Not to sound snarky or anything, but that's my rationale.
You make a good point. Since BFAV unofficial update is closed source (meaning I can't look at the code), it'll take some time to make it compatible with BFAV.

I'll look into it. The menu background also doesn't look right. Can you post one screenshot only running my mod? That'll help me single out which one is messing up the dimensions of the menu background. I would also like to know the resolution of your monitor as well, since the layout is working fine on my PC.
@JohnMarley2018 Thanks for testing it in isolation. You're a legend if you walked to the Marnie's shop to take the screenshots. However, I made some changes and it is now compatible with Bulk Animal Purchase. Enjoy!
