Generally, if the mod doesn't appear to work, it's because the other conditions for giant crops are not met. The center crop must be fully grown and watered, the crop must have a giant crop available, and it has to be on the farm map (unless the setting for off-farm is configured).
Please have some patience—the 1.6 update only just came out and atravita's mods are rather complex and technical. I believe there is an update in the works, but it may take some time to finish.
I intentionally made this rather hard to get in-game. If you want it earlier, use CJB Item Spawner or type debug fin giantcropfertilizer in the SMAPI console.

So I'm trying to grow some giant flowers (with More Giant Crops) on the little crop area just below Shearwater Bridge (on the SVE map). The problem is that although they do grow to giant size, the giant flowers disappear whenever I restart the game (not just quitting to title, but entirely shutting down and restarting the game). I've made sure to turn on the option to grow crops outside of the farm, but it doesn't seem to help any. Is this a bug of some kind or is it just a conflict between the SVE map and the option to allow giant crops outside the farm?
I assumed it would be fine since regular crops grow there easily enough. Lewis even says in the intro cutscene to that little plot of land that it's sad that it's the first thing visitors see, so I thought a big display might be nice
I hvae 3x3 areas in my greenhouse vanishing all too frequently. Had my pineapples vanish the other day and I don't think I even have a large version of them. Only just downloaded this mod today. Maybe it will help, heh.
I had the same thing happen with giant flower inside a Tiny Green house on my farm, this happened 3 times in a row, with flowers or crops. They just disappeared the next day. I replanted one of my Tiny green house's with Eerie Crop seeds and Giant fertilizer, The next day I loaded the game and the entire Tiny Greenhouse has VANISHED, DISAPPEARED, GONE. Everything inside was gone too, the trees, the chest full of wines, the kegs, casts, too. The other 7 tiny greenhouses are fine.
gonna be honest you could probably just lift the code from this file here and shove it into an independent mod.
I'll...get around to releasing the update sooner or later, but it might take a while since I'm in the middle of implementing new features for a couple of different mods at the moment and the way my projects are set up I basically have to release in a giant wave.

I didn't realize this because my testing area for "off-farm giant crops" was...the island farm.
I'll fix it in the next version!
