Is there a workaround for SDV 1.3+? Or an unofficial update? Maybe it's a bit niche, but I think it adds a nice touch and I'd really like to see this working again.
Anyways, I whipped up a couple of alternate versions in my spare time that expand on the headlines and original assets which might be more appropriate for the vanilla game or some NPC mods. I know that SDV modding is uniquely difficult, but if this gets updated, and the mod author was cool with it, I wouldn't mind sharing :)
I can't really seem to get this thing to work. I have all the required files, but it won't show the news station on my tv. even picking up and putting the tv down doesn't fix it. and I get SMAPI errors as well. Is there some sort of different way to install this other than just dragging it to mods folder? Unfortunately there's no real documentation on how to install this or custom tv that I can readily find. -Edit Okay, this thing doesn't work with CustomTV at all. But it works perfectly with PKTY
If anyone's interested, I've put together an edited file with about fifty new headlines, with a choice between either the default truncated headlines or longer full sentence headlines. There's a mix between fluff pieces, more serious news stories, some sport stuff, and references to various Harvest Moon games ;) Just choose which one you'd like, rename it to StandardNews.json, and replace the current file in the mods/DailyNews/news folder. Hopefully people think they're decent!

Okay, this thing doesn't work with CustomTV at all.
But it works perfectly with PKTY
