Suggestion: override key? Basically, if a certain (preferably configurable) key is held down, allow the watering. This would provide a nice workaround for most of the current bugs.
Now that you have said config, is integration with https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/5098 in the works? Also, you implemented a toggle for the mod's functionality, but I'm worried that (having ADHD) I will often forget to toggle it back on, whereas I will only need it off for 1 interaction at a time. Any chance of adding a config choice between Toggle versus Held-down for the key combo? ty for adding!
There is a small bug that's easy to ignore though. We can't water in a normal 3x3 square, it gets a little glitchy. Its easy enough to just moved over a square as a workaround though. Example
