The stock certificate looks slightly different in the published version. Also, your severance pay is 50 shares. Mine was higher :D
3/18/22 - I am so sorry, I forgot all about fixing this and putting it back up. Everything should be working now - you can sell it at certain stores or in the shipping bin. It doesn't have any weird extra stuff, and it doesn't break any shops.
Hi, is there a way this can be one file and the amount you get is random, I'm asking this because it makes the starting capital be due to luck and not what file we download
Idea: the 4 files + generic config = well, in theory a "super" mod that can switch between the two depending on what the player feels like for that new game?
Hi, i'm still new to mods but learning more each day! I want to install this mid-save but still early-on. Do I need to load the game first to generate a config? I noticed in the mail.json file that I can change the delivery options to insure my farmer gets their package. It looks more like instructions rather than the actual place to make changes. Just wanted to clarify.
Nice mod! Great for a bit of roleplay/realism (I always found terrible unlikely that anyone would move 'cities' without having a bit of a nest egg to fall back on if things didn't pan out. I mean, the farmer doesn't even have enough money to buy a pizza for lunch, first day on the farm).
If I could make two sugestions tho: it would be very nice if we could config how many shares we get. Because the value of a stock (3.000g) is on point I think, but overall 150.000g you get from selling it all at once is a bit much early game, for me at least. I'd like maybe 5 shares, just enough for the 1st house upgrade and a few meals at the saloon while Robin builds me a kitchen (hello again role-playing). And also: being able to sell the certificates at Joja Mart would be great, that was the first thing I tried to do when I installed the mod and I was sad they can't be sold, only shipped. It just made sense to me, it would be logical to sell them back to Joja (and also get the money day one of spring, so Robin can start working on the house bright and early next day).
So, if you ever have time for an update, those would be nice touches I think. Thank you for the mod anyway :) [sorry for my poor english]
No prob! Edit: I receive the certificates on the mail as usual, but I can't sell them to Morris or at the normal shop counter at Joja. When interacting with Morris he just has the usual fist day dialogue "We're currently in the process of setting a new membership...bla bla"
Is it possible to make it so the mod gives you the shares when you first install it or maybe on the 5th/6th day when you can buy Joja membership rather than just the first day. I'm 5 days in a new game without noticing that I didn't have MFM installed. If not possible, I'll just start over again.
Hey there's a new mod called Flying Start Loans that would interact with your own in interesting ways. It basically offers one of the things you'd have to spend part of your first bring working towards right out the gate, like a steel axe or to start building a chicken coop on day one or even just a lump sum of 10,000: which they then have to pay 15% on.
So really when combined with your own mod, basically everything but the lump sum is still a pretty interesting head start for a new player. (and not without cost, given that 15% of 10k isn't exactly pennies)
So in essence, combining the two mods would just by themselves, completely change the experience of a Farmers first Spring. :)
