I love the concept. Getting the right shelf can be a little tricky but doable. My question really boils down to how do you use the shelf. I have tried all kinds of ways without success. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Me too. Trying to test the mod is working so I bought the shelves from Robin, but can't figure out how to add items. Can someone please share how the mechanism of adding things to the slots on the wooden shelves is supposed to work? I've turned off Item Stowing to try to use the right click because left click is to consume... Am I supposed to be holding a key? I checked for a keybind in a config.json file, but there isn't one nor is there anything in Generic Mod Config Menu. I've tried Vanilla and modded items... Clearly I'm a simpleton. Someone please take pity on me and reply.
Thanks so much aedenthorn. The updated Furniture Display Framework did the trick! I can now put items on the shelves. However, now I'm not sure how to retrieve the items from the shelf afterward? I just keep pulling the shelf off the wall... I'd really appreciate a little more help.
Here's a SMAPI log of the errors I got while interacting with your shelves in case it's relevant: https://smapi.io/log/b7de41797a844b3b9c9568d03d577aa8
Off to try Table Settings again too! Can't wait to get these 2 mods going - great ideas!!! Thank you for all the hard work!
P.S. Maybe it's a conflict with Stop Rug Removal? Going to try uninstalling that and running it again. Update: Tried uninstalling Stop Rig Removal, didn't help - I still can't remove items from the shelves and noticed that the errors in SMAPI occur when I try to use right click to remove items from the shelves. Same goes for Table Settings. Here's the newest log: https://smapi.io/log/0081afc838784aa8b08d3488769e832a
does this mod work with modded in items? I was trying to place certain items on the shelves, but it won't place them. Edit: It won't let me place any items on it. Out of curiosity, will it not work if the appearance texture on items are different?
I think I found an issue. I put some iridium starfruit wine on a shelf. I went later to take it off the shelf and it had converted to just plain iridium wine.
This is really cool. The items I put on it appear much, much smaller than they do in your images here. I'm not sure I mind--they look like figurines of the items.
Hi, I was having the same reaction to the item sizes, I poked around in the mod files and found an editable configuration file that allows you to change the size of objects on the shelves.
this file is located: WoodenShelves/ [CP] WoodenShelves / content.json
each of the three shelves are broken up with their own values to determine object size, for example if you find the line: "aedenthorn.WoodenShelvesDGA/WoodenShelfOne" the values below this line control the first shelf and its contents, near the top of the file: "itemRect": { "X": 6, "Y": 4, "Width": 8, "Height": 8 } this controls the first item on the first shelf (this would be the one singular shelf which fits 3 items) I have set my values in the Width and Height to 12, this is much more visible and look more like the actual items and not miniatures
I recommend slowly slowly editing this file, maybe go to sleep and save with all three shelves empty near your bed and edit the file as you go and launch game to make sure they aren't out of scale or appearing wrong, always make sure to have a back up copy of the original mod in case you have any issues editing the config file.
there are a lot of times you'll have to go through and change these height and width values to match what you'd like, I use the 12 size, but 10 is still an improvement to the default
be careful not to edit the slotRect values while going through, these are not related to the size of the placed objects. I'm sure if your familiar with modding this probably straight forward but for anyone who comes across this I hope its clear enough to follow!
