The existing mod seems fairly configurable to do this already, and I wasn't planning to take away from another mod by implementing it again in my own. The only issue I can see with using the existing mod is that the clock would overlap the new death counter. I could add a configuration to my mod to offset the death counter vertically to accommodate the clock, or the other mod could be configured to show the time in one of the corners of the screen instead of the HUD. If you are playing solo, time doesn't progress, so I'm not sure that there is much utility in adding it, especially just to fill that gap in the existing mod.
If there's more interest, or another reason to add it (maybe the other mod isn't maintained or compatible with the latest SMAPI or something), I can look into adding the clock (although it probably won't be customizable like the other mod, except for enabling/disabling it)
Another good idea for this mod would to be to take the last frame from when you died and highlight the enemy that killed you so you can see exactly why you died.
Good idea! I just added the mod's code to github (see the mod description), so if you could open an issue there, that would be helpful for me to track.
I have vision problems from surgery that went awry last spring. I can't see what happens in this game even on my very big monitor. I can't tell "Abigail's" player from mine, can't track mine very well because its color is so similar to the background, can't really see my shots, and other elements of the game. I need contrast. I don't know what happens when you don't lose immediately, and I'd LIKE to!
Being able to see what I'm playing is why I love this game so much, but sometimes as in this minigame, that aspect is just not there.
I don't suppose you could tweak this game so that I could possibly not die immediately? Or at least see why I'm dying? lol.
Thank you very much! I don't know if what I'm asking is possible, but asking someone who has written a mod for Prairie King seems the most likely way to get it. :)
It's should be possible to swap in high contrast assets to replace the default ones, which might help your situation, though I'm not an artist, so I don't know if I would be able to make that kind of an adjustment. It might still be hard to see bullets, though, since they're still small (changing their contrast probably won't help much). Try lowering the resolution on your monitor, so that the game appears larger (1366 x 768 makes the minigame full frame for me when full-screened, though it cuts off the timer at the top, and boss health at the bottom). You could also try using a cheat mod (like https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/1427) to make yourself invincible, which could help you get your bearings without worrying about dying.
It would be awesome if you could. I already have the monitor setting as you suggest! My husband did that for me.
I looked at this cheat and it's from 2017 and doesn't say it's compatible with 1.5.etc. I've been very careful to only put in mods that say they're compatible. I didn't even know it was possible to use older mods that aren't updated for 1.5. I'm learning so much! Thank you!

2- Does it work for stardew valley 1.5.6.39?
& a bunch of warnings about "System.Runtime Version 5.0.0" as well as "Assembly Binding is turned OFF"
How does one go about getting a SMAPI log, because its quite the large amount of red text this mod is giving me here.
I'll see what I can do, but this doesn't sound like an error with my mod specifically, though I could be wrong.
Time of the Prairie King
